When they used to have a boxing or fighting match they would draw the line on the ground in the middle of the fighters and yell:
"Toe the line!"
The fighters would have to put their foot up to the line (toes on the line) to signal they were ready and in the fight.

LOL Yes, that particular misspelling has bothered me too.

You mean its got nothing to do with a camel toe?
What is this "Camel toe" I keep hearing about? "Little Toe" I understand is slang for someone with a tiny penis? Don't know why a guy would want that for a moniker, but I like LT posts and it's up to him.
What is this "Camel toe"
I'd post some examples but I'd get in trouble. Do a google image search.
I think "toe the line" also refers to what the police tell drunk drivers to do when they pull them over. The very drunk can't walk a straight line to save their lives.
Other irritating phrases: "card sharp," not "card shark." And "he/she's a real trouper," not "trooper." Of course, all of this is just between you and me (NOT "you and I").

Poor Kool-Aid man... Search if you must.
Okay, so a "camel toe" is like what you see from the front when a female is given a wedgie.
I think Little Toe knows I was 'avin a laff on him. "My Left Foot" is one of my favorite books.
