Should I wait to be questioned by the elders? or take my leave in advance?

    Dear Thinking of Leaving,

There is NO WAY I would ever put myself through such a ordeal. We all make mistakes, and there is not a one of us that does not sin. You can pray directly to Jehovah for forgiveness. You do NOT need men standing between you and God, deciding if you are repentant or not!! If you decide to go you will be expected to answer very personal and graphic questions. This will be hard to get over, as you will most likely feel victimized after the process. And for what?? They will most likely get rid of you anyway.

    Hang in there!!

    Sincerely,

    Lady Liberty

If you do it.... please tape it and share I am glad I didn't do it though, after reading what others went through.

If you refuse to meet with them, they'll DF you, just the same as if you meet with them or if you disassociate yourself. Why go to the effort to DA yourself when you can just ... do nothing.

Hi TOL, and welcome to the forum.

You have no need to do anything. Just let them do what they want to do, but don't go to their kangaroo court, as that is all it will be, unless you can take someone in there with you. If they refuse to allow that, walk away.

I didn't read other responses....do not subject yourself to the humilation, possible name calling, finger pointing, scripture reading, prayer BS.

I have been through 2....5 man meetings, don't do it. Don't give them the satisfaction. Attending gives them power and underscores their belief in that power.

This is not a court of Law but a Kangaroo court and Mickey Mouse operation...you are free, .......take advantage of your god given option!

Unless you actually care about what they think, don't do anything on their terms.

You need to separate yourself from the belief that the Judicial committee is Jehovah's arrangement, it is not. What you will be subjected to is spiritual abuse. Your sins are between you and God, not men. Those elders only have as much power over you as you give them.

Thanks so much for the advice! I don't feel remorse and have no intention of staying in the truth. I've heard horror stories both from this site and from elsewhere about those dreaded questions. I think that if I met with them I would have to walk out of that meeting because I will refuse to answer questions concerning my personal life. I now know what I need to do. I'm waiting for the PO to contact me to find out when the JC is meeting with me, when he does I'll tell him to go ahead and DF me because I'm unrepentant and do not need 3 elders to tell me such. Thanks again!
