Dictatorship, pure dictatorship being imposed on blood relatives. Keep strong and believe in yourself. Jehovahs way to raise children is not with anger, but with by his wise and loving counsel; NOT WITH WHIPS OR RODS. Bloody psychos.

I apologise for my outburst but reading all this infuriates me how what is preached is not practised. Read my posts if you have time.

    Don't take crap from anyone.

"...what is preached is not practised" indeed the whole mindset and attitude of the WTS is based on pretention and hypocrisy. It seeks to pass itself off as a religion whereas it has the soul of a business. Then by necessity it has to pretend all the way.

(((((Enlightened One)))))) and welcome you! I must say that although I dont know you I swelled up with admiration and pride for your strong will that got you out of there even though, like me you didnt know the whys and wherefores necessarily at the time. That's fantastic that you insisted on going to university - well done!

I think you have an invaluable contribution to make here young lady - there are quite a few younger ones here who are struggling to get out before the opportunity for an education and a good start in life pass them by and you are an excellent example. Your baptism story was dreadful - I was a little older than you at just 13 and had a similar traumatic experience - just terrible. It was the most unspiritual and fear filled day of my life I think up to that point. I've posted it elsewhere on here.

Anyway welcome welcome - hoep you find some answers and some consolation here. How is your career going now? I am currently in the legal business but only as a secretary and am studying Social Science to get a BA so i can work in a field where I can maybe make a difference.

    Welcome to JWD

What a story...and so well written. I was hanging on every word.

To have the cops called on you at your own brother's wedding reception...it would boggle the mind of any "normal" non-cult-indoctrinated person, but to those associated with JWs, we understand all too well. As ex-JWs we can agree with your non-JW relatives in being angry but back in our JW days we would have understood about having to "keep the congregation clean" by having the "wicked one removed". It shows just how fooled and coerced we were.

I'm sure Jesus took time from changing water to wine at the wedding festival he attended to kick out undesirables...

    Welcome to the board

WOW, I say the same thing with every new thread I read. I can always pick out of someone's story parts that I can personally relate to. It still amazes me that so many people have been through the same thing

    Stay strong and again welcome.

PS.. is your "other brother" still df'd??

First welcome and we are all glad that you had the courage to write your story. It never ceases to amaze me how low the individuals in the cult will sink against their own family members. I have to agree many times they do this because of how they want other JW folk to view them. Most really live a double life..one in front of the "friends" and one when they are at home. I am surprised that police would even respond to a KH about removing a woman and child that is not making any problems. Glad that you are here, and welcome to the real "truth."

Welcome to the board, what a great story!

Isnt it funny, when you get pulled into the back room....and your not allowed to talk about what your Parents may be doing wrong? Maybe thats the reason we were there in the first place!

I dare say that our adverse experiences with the jw's have brought us all closer

I had been away from my congregation here for a very long time. I decided to try and go back, after being inactive for 15 years. It took them all but a week, to bring me to the back room to tell me they were going to df me.

Right after they announced it......I had people from this board, who I really didnt know much, come to my door. They were there for me. They are the ones who showed unconditional love, NOT the JW's. Crazy hey?

Stick around, you will make true friends here!

It takes a while to be able to "feel for" our family left in the cult and behaving bad because of it. I am glad you got to that point.....That was such a rough experience.

    Welcome to the forum!!!!
