I've learned many bad things that I prolly shouldn't be mentioning ;)

I learned there's a whole pile of people out there that went thru the same shit and became some truly wonderful and interesting folks.

I've learned that a Witless will always want to believe that they alone are being persecuted and that people who leave will simply die if they don't come back. IT'S ALL MIND CONTROL!!!

I agree with what everyone has said so far, and could add a million more.

I have learned not to wallow in feelings of guilt constantly.

I have learned & decided that I don't want to walk on eggshells around my JW sister anymore by denying my own belief system.

I have learned about a lot of horrible behavior that is tolerated and even encouraged among the JWs such as molestation & child abuse.

I have learned (by reading Crisis of Conscience) that the Governing Body is a bunch of old farts who ruin people's lives with their stupid decisions.

And I've learned good news that not only are the JW's not having the "great increase" they always bragged about, but that people seem to be leaving in large numbers.

Oh, and let's not forget--that the teachings regarding the US & Russia being the king of the north & king of the south has been forgotten; that was a really big deal when I was a teenager.
