Anybody else cooking pancakes for tea? I've never bothered before (for obvious jw reasons!lol) on Shrove Tuesday so i thought i'd cook up a big batch tonight yum!Have bought a lemon, got the sugar - just hope they don't end up on the ceiling or the floor! They are nice with savoury fillings too but i couldn't be bothered with that tonight. What are you having on yours (ok i'm after ideas please!)
It's Pancake Day!

I guess that is an english custom. . .as pancakes were allowed when I was a JW:) Get some cherry pie filling or lemon. YUM. My all time favorite is blueberry pancakes. What's yours?

I heard on the radio this morning that blueberry is the most popular filling.
I used to like them plain with tons of sugar on
or you could try maple syrup if you can get hold of some.

This explains why the morning disc jockey was talking about free pancakes today at IHOP.

Cute BW he looks like my rabbit! Our pancakes are alot bigger and thinner than those though. I had loads of lemon juice on mine, and my husband had chopped fruit in his. The boys have asked for them again tomorrow! Why didn't i think of maple syrup - i have a can of that in the cupboard that someone brought back from Canada! I guess its a bit like golden syrup?Cherry pie filling mmm..

Glad you enjoyed your pancakes - how many did you have to peel of the ceiling then?! I actually discovered maple syrup with pancakes at Little Chef service stations!! It's a while since I last had them but from memory, maple syrup is less sweet and slightly thinner than golden syrup - so it's not as sickly, I think that's what makes it a good filling.

Flapjack - hmmm you could probably use it, but the result might not be as chewy as you get with syrup! I suppose it depends on how you like the consistency of your flapjack though.
I just found this webpage and the comments at the bottom suggest you can use it saying its only the cost that's a problem:
