We had lemon and sugar or golden syrup on ours. Fe2O3Baby was very impressed, he ate loads.

thanks for the recipe! I may try it i usually burn flapjack when i make it so a runnier consistency might help me - they usually turn out like bricks!

last night i just fancied some pancakes
i had not heard read or saw anything about it being pancake day...just got the taste.(very psychosomatic!!)
i usually buy ready made pancakes from the shop but i didnt think i had any and anyway they are just that tiny bit too thick.i fancied thin crepes. so i looked out a recipe and got all the utensils out and the ingredients and then realised that i didnt have any flour cos i had thrown it out cos it was out of date.
i was so disappointed..
but then i looked in the freezer and there was a packet of ready made ones...so that made up for it.
when we were in paris one time there were loads of street vendors selling freshly baked crepes with lots of different fillings..having difficulty working out the currency exchange i thought they were a bargain at 20p (40 cents) until we realised our spending money was going faster than we thought and worked out the crepes were £2.00 ($4.00)

those little shop-bought pancakes just aren't the same are they? You never used to be able to buy those in England till a few years ago.
When my sister moved to Northern Ireland, she saw a sign for ready made pancakes, thought it would save her some cooking time and was horrified when the assistant brought out those tiddly little things - she was too embarrassed to say she didn't want them though so that pancake day was low key by Yorkshire standards!!

though i am a pancake lover of all sizes when you want crepes you pretty much gotta make them fresh and eat them hot
