I have to disagree about using a tripod here. It's your gin-shaken grasp on the camera that makes these shots so unusual and random.

You know, a nite skyline shot with the water in the foreground would be cool. Tripod or something to set on would be necessary
Zooming out on a short exposure shot can have interesting fx 2
Just saying what I see.
