quixote -- The idea is to look for objects that move . In this case we see light that moves in strange motion, who knows what will move next , alot of times this type of phenom (if it is paranormal) other objects will move while nobody is in the room or sometimes when they are. Of course there could always be other explanations such as camera problem or light from other sources reflecting . I don't think it's time to break out the plasma traps and ionic beam ray guns ( as seen in the movie ghost busters) .

Looking at the basement - it looks to be a pretty old house you are living in. Have you done any research on previous occupants?

I just got a thought...
Since you have the original film of this... can you transfer it to a media like DVD or a VCR tape? Then plug it into your player/tape machine - and run it at a very slow speed - watching the 'flashes'. Perhaps in a slower mode, you can detect something, or it would take on some sort of form?
Just a thought.

Something is showing on the video. I have seen other videos with the same image and what is being seen are called rods. Some people say rods are an undescribed life form and others say rods are nothing more than insects that look rods like because of camera speed. You are not crazy, buttlight. Something is showing on the video. Try insecticide in the basement to kill off any moths or other flying bugs and then reshoot the video. Here are a couple of links you might find interesting:

I havent read all the replys yet, i will shortly............
For the believers, I went down 3 times tonight. First two times, during the day, nothing. Third time was a charm.......for me anyway. I watched and watched, and then said "OK, on my command,...." (didnt finish saying what i wanted to say and a light flew in front of the cam).........I will try to edit it and post if for you on here.........soon.
It seems that things go on more at night. After 8:30 pm. So, its almost 9:00 pm and here i go again. And yes, I have been going down in that nasty dungeon in the pitch black by myself..........gotta give me something for that atleast!

Steve, yes, it has infrared with night vision. Both go at the same time.

There are people on here that can put it up so you can view it in windows media player. you can play it slow motion. I can record it to video if I wanted........havent tried......but have played them full screen on the tv.
A google search on rods will give you more info.
I have seen many shows on this.......also heard people say rods are a form of aliens!

BL, I've seen this many times, so to let you know that it ain't something weird, the next time it happens, put your hand across the little red infrared bulb. They'll disappear.
What you are seeing is probably reflection from entities reflecting light back to your camera. What those entities are don't know.But spirits ain't physical so they don't reflect anything.
If you want to have some fun, and work out what is causing the unknown whizzes that your infrared cutout filter is picking up, them I'll be glad to help.
