But I still don't buy into gobal warming

Nope, neither do I. However, planting trees is a good thing. It won't make any difference in global temps but it will make some people feel good.

The middle-class parents who need a gas-guzzling SUV to haul the kids to soccer practice might not be so lucky.

What is wrong with a car ? Why do they NEED an SUV?

    Poor Gore.

    I can relate.

I feel so guilty for driving to the beer distributor that I'm going to go drive my empty beer cans to the recycler now, to atone for releasing carbon.

Clyde's response to this: "Our former "green" vice president has a "red" agenda.

    Brother A,

I always knew that beer consumption was good for us. It's a sacrifice I'm willing to continue to make for the benefit of all humankind. Bottoms up! I wonder if bottles are "greener" than cans.

Yes, beer is good for the environment in many ways.

After processing through a human, it can be used to fertilize and water plant life, thus encouraging a greener earth.

It can also be placed in a pan and set outside to catch and kill slugs, thus reducing a major pest of vegetation, in turn, encouraging a greener earth.

And, of course, the greenest beer is that drunk on St. Patty's day!

BA- Atoning for his carbon footprint in wonderful ways

P.S. Some beer cans are green, and so are some beer bottles. But, overall, cans are greener from a purely environmental perspective, methinks.

For the same reason Algore needs a private jet as opossed to commercial flights. For the same reason Algore needs a huge mansion as opposed to more humble dwellings. Bug

Who needs a car? You can get anywhere using public transportation.

Who needs smelly busses? You can ride a bike.

Who needs a bike? They require rubber for tires, and oil for the chain, you better walk.

Why don't we just cut to the chase? Remove every modern convienence to make sure you have a smal "carbon footprint!"

Edited to add: This is the freedom that Progressives love. The to impose their sensabilities and morals on everyone else. Isn't this the same thing that they rail against Conservatives with?

There is nothing wrong with a car, I've owned several over the years. I CHOOSE to drive an SUV because I regularly participate in activities that are much easier when I have a SPORT UTILITY vehicle. It's not as easy to put five bikes on a car and drive five to seven people to a bike event. I find it's much easier to haul my friends, our bikes and wetsuits and all the stuff we need to triathlons during the summer. I love being able to load it up and head to the hills for a weekend of camping. Steve always drives when he and his buddies go scuba diving because the SUV holds all the equipment and the cars don't. Most of all, I love that my kids are safe in a big-ass vehicle. I don't apologize for driving a huge SUV. I use it.

Good for you Princess. Your vehicle doesn't use any more fuel that the Kennedys limos and it uses much less fuel that Algores' private jet. If becoming green means we need to burn less fuel perhaps the Kennedy family and Algore will show us how this is done.
