Frannie (of the "how many feet can I get in my mouth at one time" class)

I'm more afraid of how many of your feet you can get in my mouth.

My Momma always said: don't mess with Momma.

otoh, there're posters like OUTLAW , who, in 5 years and 5700 posts, have yet to say anything of earth-shaking value. roflmao

    And..................he lives with Bigfoot.

Yeah, I think I'm going to class myself as the compulsive poster class. There are diamonds in the rough....but you're gonna have to drill real deep to find them.

I agree with what LtCmdLore and Outlaw wrote.

I have a high post tally, but a lot of them aren't contributing to discussion (for example a lot are used bumping the vigil threads), other posts might appear stupid or unintelligent - but that's part of me shaping my own thoughts and ideas, I have to bounce them around in order to make changes if needed. Occasionally I might actually post some real wisdom of benefit to others lol!

I do watch how I respond newbies, because I know how I felt when this was my first ever foray into a discussion board - I was very scared of posting, then I made a stupid comment (it wasn't to me at the time) which resulted in me being flamed and almost caused me to leave before I even got started. Honestly - if I had been an inquiring/exiting JW, I think that experience would have scared me straight back to the KH.

I do feel a bit intimidated when I reply to a poster that has 10 000 posts and I have ...... I'm not sure how many I have but I know it's much much less. I try and read all the new post but don't always feel the need to answer or comment.

    it never mattered to me.

i'm on quite a few forums, all the others are NOT jw boards.

don't matter there either. i post if i have something to contribute. if not, i read and move on.

    quantity don't matter.

    quality does.

I disagree, although many here have made remarks to the contrary.

It's cyberspace, few of us have met the othes here.

There is always a bit of difficulty really knowing someone via snail mail, telephone, or the internet.

Really knowing someone = meeting them face to face for an extended period of time.

BA-Thinks it's funny that some care what their post status is.

I agree with you in thinking that there is the perception that the number of posts "legitimizes" the poster.

Of course, what I am saying clearly has value as you can tell by the number of posts I've put up over the years.

By the way, would this volume=importance have also applied to that Fred fellow a fews years back? And if so, why do I find that both amusing and frightening at the same time?

Its never been a factor to me. I'll toss out ideas and discuss them, or debate vigorously with anyone. The only time it usually bothers me is when a fundamentalist jumps aboard and starts slating folks here for their lack of belief when they haven't the first clue as to what individuals have gone through. Those types I hammer!

As detective suggests, if we were to take the premise to the nth degree then FredHall would have been the leader of the pack.
