That is messed up but, looking for the humor in there, that phone call transcript reads like a Dragnet script.
sorry if I shocked ya. Maybe its just some dark comedy.

When dealing with identity theft, most stores, banks and credit card companies demand that you proof that you did NOT open the accounts and spend the money.
Because of this I wonder if it is possible to sue them for Slander and Libel since they are distributing false information about you that is not only harmful to your reputation but is also detrimental to your ability to function in every day life.
Yikes, and I thought I had interesting days. Well, I still think I do, but you dear are the Queen of Interesting.
God Decki. That's awful. I'm like you. When stress gets to be much, I start laughing at stupid stuff and serious stuff too actually. Just the way my brain works to relieve the tension I think.
Good info Candi.
Hugs, Juni
Sparkplug,
Identity theft sucks. I've had my personal info stolen twice. Once from my old univeristy's database of alumni (they keep nagging us each year for donations) when someone nabbed many of the credit card numbers on file. The second time when a bunch of computers with a whole whack load of personal data (including social insurance numbers) was stolen from the professional body to which I have to pay annual fees.
Long story short....there were three credit cards in my name out there that weren't actually mine...I now have no credit cards and still am getting my claim processed by TransUnion here in Canada.
You might want to do what I did to make shopping easier. Get yourself a bank draft for X amount of $ and put that amount on a prepaid credit card like the platinum Visa card.
Wishing you the best
Elsewhere,
I can relate to the stuffed up sinuses. I've got a combo of sinusitis and deviated septums. There's a few quick fixes but by the time you go to sleep you can't breathe at all. The only long-term so-so remedy that I've found that doesn't make you dependent is the simple saline solution spray. Later

Girl you amaze me! What a family history......and you are the sane one for sure, keep on keeping on. A favorite saying of mine is "don't let the bastards get you down." Easier said than done I know, but you girl have the hootzpah and the balls to do it!
As far as your identity theft I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you that all works out for you. What a terrible thing to happen and to such a undeserving person, my heart goes out to you.
Big hugs!
Go to free annual credit report.com get copies of all three reporting agencies, dispute and have them take off anything that is suspect, and sign up for fraud protection. If someone tries to use your identy they will have to answer a million questions that only you should know the answers too.
I just went through this with my son (he's 19), we live in VA and someone in California charged $600 at K-Mart from his checking account. How they got his info??? I have no clue. The bank did credit his account after an investigation an 30 days!!!!
Good Luck, I hope your day get's better!!!!

Decki, I knew I liked you-you are so strong and have overcome more than I could have imagined. Your poor mom, whatever she has put you through, at least you know she is certifiable and always has been. I am sorry-I never really understood your story enough to appreciate how normal you are!
You have had a hell of a week. I'd be a freaking mess right now-and would just be wallowing in it. I am feeling very petty about my recent family gripes. I needed perspective. You deserve something wonderful-I wished I could be the one to gift you with it. I know you will hang in there, and I hope you get some good support from your friends and local (sane) family.
All the crap with your mom-she has had more misery than she has been able to inflict on you. I think you have a lot of love for the person who has hurt you so much. Somehow she ended up with at least one awesome kid, so that we can be grateful for that, and she knows it somewhere-that her life was good for some things, even if it was all messed up. You are giving your kids a different legacy. They are blessed-you are changing the family tradition of crazy.
Geez Decki....what a time! At least you're keeping your sense of humour intact ..I gotta say that I understand the momma scenario completely! If it wasn't the nurses calling for info, it was one of the siblings calling to complain and that was in between the times that my mother could actually get hold of a phone in the hospital and call me herself - either sobbing or angry. I feel for you! As for your credit issue - that really sucks! I think those azzholes need to get prison time for a few years and then spend another 20 working just to pay people back! The advice you got here is good and I know it'll take time to fix but hang in there - gotta be sunny days ahead for you! ...hugs....sammieswife
