Life is a journey and according to the great psychologist Jung the purpose is to expand awareness of one's self and about the world outside. As Crumpet implies there should be an overall breaking of attachments and dependences. Some ideals will remain constant throughoutlife.

'No being overly attached to the wrong people or things is what results in heartache.'
Problem: Sometimes ones own adult child/children can bring on the heartache in life - more difficult to de-attach.

    True

If it hurts more often than not, something's wrong

And that strange unwanted attachment to the WTS and its ideology is something that causes a lot of trouble to many ex dubs as they try to readjust to a new way of life. Human psychology can be so strange.

I don't care to be a hermit in life. I like being around good people and sharing laughter and good times. There is a measure of "risk" to form attachments to people. But in my opinion it is worth it.

As I've got older, I find myself easier going. What used to be important isn't any more. And I take one day at a time now.
