Hey what a great question. But them we have to consider how people back there was and how small a group his followers were. The majority of Jew's did not follow only a few. I would not have followed, but may have been curious later on but would have observed from a distance since Christians were being killed and persecuted.

I can only hope that I would have, I believe that I am following him today, in looking at the posts here, to me there is a big diffference in following Chirst compared to following men or an organization that most of us WERE willing to do, watching Christ is no mere magic trick, his miracles were not magic.
If one could have seen the power of raising the dead or healing the sick as he did and not followed, well I will leave that thought up for more discussion or personal scrutiny. But this was no mere magic act, this was the power of God in action.
