I am sure I am the only one who will be posting on this thread given America doesn't have the contest and no one else is likely to own up to watching such a shameful debacle!!!

I am only slightly ashamed to say I have only ever missed one contest in 31 years and that was because I was in Canada. I love it - Terry Wogan is brilliantly funny - and so are most of the acts.

Tonight the voting for the British entry begins on BBC1 - given the new enthusiasm for reality/talent shows its getting prime time treatement for the first time in years. I remember this used to be on Sunday afternoons.

Please please can we just have a decent song - I would love Britain to win so it could be held in this country and I could go and wave a flag and wear an outrageously camp outfit! It seems we have mainly celebs being nominated to represent Britain this year!

    So our possible entries are

Liz from Atomic Kitten singing a fairly forgettable soul pop song - but at least she CAN sing unlike most of our entries in the last few years. She needs to lose the vile retro baby doll dress or at least slap some fake tan on her legs. her hair looks fake so that should appeal to much of Europe. The backing singers are a bit plain, but then if we can win on the dancers back flips then its all tied up and dusted!

Second Option - Brian Harvey - but what are the chances he'd even turn up to the show if he got voted to represent - he might get ran over by his own car or an elderly relative might meet with sudden death.

Big Brovaz - got the exact right feel for Euro Flamboyance - the song was good and gangsta. It was sexy and entertaining. They get my vote so far.

hey Crumpet, I love the EUROVISION! The americans dont know what they are missing. It is so corny but we always watch it. Remember the one we had last year, by DAZ 'what did you learn at school today' lol

Well I dont think it matters who sings or what the song is like...its all political voting. You are right, Wogan is ever so funny; he knows the tune alright!

I heard that the bloke from the Darkness is giving it a go?

lol Brian Harvey... he's well and truly lost the plot, getting run over by his own car - I remember watching him on some late-night doc where he was desperately trying to get a record deal, sitting there in a small room with not-so-important record label reps, as his home recording tape swirled round and round

    I

heard that the bloke from the Darkness is giving it a go?

You're kidding! That should be interesting. He's pretty flamboyant. He should be on soon then.

This one just now is typical Euro drivel - she is pretty enough but I will be mad if she wins - music may be universal, like she said, but nationality does matter! As you say the whole thing is political which is what makes the voting so much fun. Its like being back in the school playground again.

Justin Hawkins - former frontman of glam rock band The Darkness - is hoping to sing at the Eurovision Song Contest.

The singer and guitarist is one of six acts competing to represent the UK in this year's competition in Helsinki.

Rock Hallejulah last year was great I thought :)

I agree - I loved Rock Hallelujah! My favourite of the last few years was Ruslana - Wild Dances from the Ukraine - boy she was something else!

Scooch - is sounding diabolical but it is camp enough and that key. Eurovision has a massive massive gay following! At least in this country - not sure about everywhere else. I never thought of "blow into the mouthpiece" as something so full of innuendo before. This is very funny - I am not sure whether to vote for Big Brovaz or Scooch now. Scooch will definitely earn points!

    Camp it up!

    LOL!

This Justin Hawkins duet is awful awful. Its camp in a bad way! I'm embarrassed for them!
