I'm stuck again with him and his "mistress".lol

My ex used to call my computers my mistresses. Once an elder phoned and asked about me, and she said I was in the other room turning on my three mistresses.

    I have 6 now.

Mine watches the Sci-Fi channel all the time and nothing else, unless it's a bloody- gory war movie with guns and guts! I get SO bored! Even on a balmy summer evening, he sits in front of that crap. He won't come for a walk with me & the dog, or sit on the patio to chat over a glass of wine with me. So, I just go by myself. I get tired of the TV running all the time. It's like he doesn't know how to enjoy peace & quiet, or read a book. He was raised that way, what a shame.

That's one of the few good things I can say about being raised a JW child... I learned to read and enjoy books. I wasn't allowed to watch much TV, and so I read a lot.

I watch more than he does. He watches from the kitchen while he does his work and while he works out.

We make it a point to talk about our day first when we get home and plan what we will be doing the next, coordinating things. I tape a lot of my shows and watch them later when my pains keep me up.

But if viewing interferes with meaningful conversation...............

Lawdhammercy, Crabby Pants watches it from 4 or 5 in the AM when he gets up until he goes to bed at night. That is when he's not out banking, shopping or sleeping.

It doesn't really bother me, except for when he adlibs through an interesting show and I can't hear the dialogue. Most of the time I don't even watch it, because he's watching the history channel (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz) or some old oater or just flipping channels (get tha gun!).

I don't watch tv at all nowadays. But then again if I was a husband to someone maybe I would it would all depend how interesting life would really be, though something tells me I'd have completely different ideas how to spend my time with that special lady I would actually marry, mmm hmmmm :p

Does that make you a "COUCH POTATO"? Where did that saying come from? The polls say that most peopls watch about seven hours of TV a day.

Thanks for your posts guys/gals. I really enjoyed reading all of them. That's cute about Rocco! Parrots do get louder when there is loud noises. I think they like to compete!

Blondie, our meaningful conversation happens at the kitchen table. After that I can't get "through" so I might as well do other things unless I like SciFi channel or learn how to put a toilet in or watch old war movies w/airplanes. There are times we watch "House Hunters" on HGTV which can be interesting or "If Walls Could Talk" another HGTV program. Or sometimes an older movie.

I watch very few shows as much of it is dull. Yes. I agree. It is like his mistress troubled mind or the remote control which is almost worn through the plastic in places. I'm not exaggerating.

Hang in there all of you; spring is almost here! Maybe things will change a little?
