Quexinos welcome. You said -

. . . using God's name in a haunting situation can be powerful enough to get rid of the ghost/demon/whatever. Is this actually true?

The JWs make stories up like this all the time and they almost always fit their agenda.

For instance when I was a JW I was told that a nearby house was experiencing "a posession" not unlike the one in The Exorcist. Visiting JWs identified an old Christmas tree in the attic as being the source of attraction, and by removing the tree the terrible entity was out of there in a flash. The story enforced both the reality of demon posession and the evil of Christmas in one. JW bullsh*t. It wouldn't have made a very good movie either.

in jw opinion its not the *word* itself which makes demons flee. its god (or his angels) himself you scare the demons away. its like that:

demon haunts guy -> guy believes in jehovah -> guy is scared and shouts "jehovah!" or "jehovah help me!" -> god sees his faith and decides to help him -> god is much more powerful as all demons -> demon flees

i dont know whether demons really exist. i never experienced anything supernatural in full conscience (i have strange experiences as i was a kid, but it also can be my imagination).

if i had to make a decision i would say: ghosts, demons and things are the product of the human imagination and the brains poor ability to differ between real and unreal situations.

its an easy answer, but i cant know.

btw.: im an active JW with strong doubts.

In all history, there are zero verifiable examples of 'haunting' by ghosts/demons/spirits

Of those zero, zero have shown any benefit in using the name 'Jehovah' to make them go away.

Can you say 'anecdote', boys and girls?

JWs believe this, yes. If you encounter a ghost, in the JW-view, you are in reality encountering one of Satans demons (always). And these demons are supposedly scared of Jehovahs, so just "call out to Jehovah", and they will run... I don`t know if anyone on the show "A haunting" (good show btw) ever tried this, but it might be an interesting experiment. If the ghost (demon) had replied by saying "yeah, so what", it might be a good argument against this belief of the JWs.

    It's absolutely NOT TRUE

The name Jehovah, is used in black Satanic rituals.

The word Jehovah is one of three sacred names of God used in Enochian Magick. If the name also serves to scare away demons, ghosts, fallen angels, or whatever one fancies calling purported supernatural troublemakers, this would present an interesting contradiction.

    This is 100% verifiable reality.

    Whatchoo talkin' 'bout Willis?

By far, the majority of the rituals detailed in MiT&P are "white", meaning they're designed with self-development in mind and making contact with the Divine as opposed to casting "spells", etc., like the Wiccans, etc. do, with the intent of making changes upon the physical plane, or even *gasp*, imposing upon the wills of others, "black" magick.

And, only Satanic in the sense that self-development with an eye towards individuation and empowerment of the Self is in direct opposition to the collective wills of the slave-god religions which oppress and enslave the masses of Gods children today, and as such demonized by the slave-gods' agents as "Evil" and "Satanic".

The "Jehovah" you know is not the same "Jehovah" I know, if there even is such a being in the first place.

Besides, words or names of power are tools to be used in whatever way is deemed necessary by the individual wielding them. It's the intent of the wielder that counts here.

Daystar, that's exactly what I meant to say. LOL! Thanks for the clarification.
You watch too much T.V.
actually I don't, A Haunting is one of the only shows I watch. Other than that I'm online or playing video games.
If the Witnesses continue to haunt you, ask to be put on their Do Not Call list, or put up a No Trespassing sign. If you seriously have a problem with angry ghosts, ask the elders at your local Kingdom Hall for help. One of the first things they'll tell you is to stop watching TV shows about ghosts!
hey hey it's okay. They weren't bothering me at all. I welcomed them into my home and such. Hey it was nice having someone to talk to and who actually KNEW answers rathar than just saying "Well just trust God"
I have a problem with them not wanting people to have homosexual relationships. That's why I could never be a JW and why I stopped being Christian all together
