  Here is the case. (posted above) I have not read it thru. Also, I have done a key cite or shepherds to see if there is other supporting case law. Keep in mind Guy that depending on your area, you may already have muney codes and/or ordinances in place that you just don't realize. There are a ton of "old laws" around that are never used but still on the books. You just have to have the patience to read thru the crap and find it.

  Good idea, but the problem with that is that most of the pedofiles have never been reported to police, never convicted or even brought into court because of their being protected by the WTS. If there is no record in the legal system they would not have to register - right?

  Thanks for posting this, I read through some of it, and found a few possible loopholes and oversights.
  
  First, about the convicted sex offenders. Yes the majority of JW pedophiles are unreported and un-prosecuted, however there are still quite a few that arent. If every town that has a convicted JW sex offender had an ordinance passed, then the police would be notified every time they went out in field service, and the police would have the legal right to step up patrol.
  
  Second, was the "no solicitation" form upheld? If so then that could be used more extensively.
  
  Also they seemed to use the theory alot in this case that this was impeding the neighbors from having free speech with their fellow townspeople-their neighbors. If I remember correctly one of the arguments used by the WT was that visiting JW's would be burdened to get this license--Now tell me, how does some circuit overseer from NY or wherever count as a neighbor in the village of Stratton? They are not citizens of that town, nor have any vested interest in the community.
  
  
  You know what really rubs me raw about this?----probably one half of the cities in this country would require me to get a permit to picket, Where the heck is my free speech rights? Why shouldnt I be afforded anonymity?--not that I could care .
  
  
  When this case was going on, I was in between XJW boards and didnt know this case was proceeding until it was almost over. I wish I could have been involved.
