Blondie, I grew up with seven sisters and am married to the same woman for 40 years and came to be very comfortable around woman because of it. I have much respect for what woman go through and how they put up with and handle a lot of BS. When I was serving, I had the same compassion as your husband showed toward toward the sisters and their families. The local friends loved our family, they knew we were real. Thanks again.

A very outspoken married sister at Bethel - circa 1970s - mocking a domineering, JW husband yelling at his wife, bellowed: "I didn't say we could have string beans for dinner!" Sister's next comment was that wifey's skillet needed to be applied to the side of the jerk's head.
I must admit that I failed on many occasions to be a loving husband. There is no excuse for abusive, retaliatory behavior - no matter how much one might be provoked. They say it's fight or flight. In hindsight I'd say that "flight" is the preferable option, at least till things cool down.

Re: husbands' willingness to die for their wives but neglecting to show them common courtesy and emotional support. I love this little declaration of a "starstruck" young man to his sweetheart ...............

"I'd climb the highest mountain or ford the deepest river to be at your side. I'll see you Saturday night if it isn't raining."

When they get married nothing will change.

    Thanx for the study!

    Thanks for the review ,Blondie.

Is it me or is the Watchtower losing control. The past few years the WTWRS are about LOYALTY LOYALTY LOYALTY and now about how husbands/wives/children should live.

Hi Blondie! I was 'kidding', but it's just that I do find every 'Watchtower' related very bizarre and funny now.

I'm afraid I'm feeling a touch 'extreme' about the dubs at the moment as yet again we have been 'persecuted' by having to spend time with dub relatives!

It was truly a horrible experience to listen to such 'stuffed shirt' Elders pontificating, and then catching my mother slagging me and mine off with my Elder cousins!

I feel totally 'violated' and angry at having been in their presences again! That may well have been the very last time we tolerate such BS!

I have been looking forward to your run down on this very annoying article and the next two to follow.

Thanks for the great post on this!

What a sad organization the WTBTS really is!

There not losing control bobld. They lost it some time ago.

They're going down my brother and I hope I'm alive to see it get real interesting.

    BTW, excellent observation.

nvrgnbk - You make a good point that they 'lost control' a long time ago! HOWEVER, when you spend any time with REAL fanatical JW's who you can see are obviously under deep and serious mind control it can seem as if the WTBTS is still winning. Articles such as today's Watchtower study, and then next couple to come, will simply enforce Control, control and more control.

This is a very distubing trend in the WTBTS. I worry about what the 'private' Watchtowers are going to do to those trapped deep within this terrible cult.

Kool-Aid, no longer seems a bad and distant nightmare for a few fanatics, but a possible future reality for a lot of very sad people.....especially the poor women and children.

I get what you're saying Gill. I guess my take on the situation is that today's young are the future of the org.

and none of them are buying this crap anymore. I do feel a tragic loss for the ones I leave behind. But hey, hope

    springs eternal, right sis?

    Love and respect,

Nvrabsdhshdshp( actually never had any to begin with) LOL!

I have hope that this is the case, people seem to be waking up, even though there are those still deeply entrenched in it, maybe the WT's cracking down on the control will wake those people up...
