How many of you remember this approximate C.O. quote that was making the rounds in the '80s ( I think ).

"Can you go to Jehober in prayer and justify why you're not a pioneer?"

(Note to Simon: How 'bout an emoticon with at least a little vomit showing?)

    Bottom line: If you ain't a pioneer.................You ain't nothin'

A pioneer™ is more favourably regarded as marriage material than a do-nothing deadbeat publisher™. At least that's what I was told by a pioneer™ who was trying to encourage me to pioneer™.

Unfortunately, I listened to the advice.

Thank you for the feedback folks. Interesting comments. On the Way Out's observation:

We had pioneer sisters who made sure they didn't earn enough money on their part time jobs so that they
could continue to qualify for public assistance of various types. Now, I was never on the service committees,
but I said this was wrong. How can you pioneer by saying you can't go out and earn enough money to
support yourself, and you are healthy enough to be a full-time minister?

Yep. A filthy rich publishing company has it's unpaid minions working for them for nothing while the State subsidises the practice. I suppose it comes under the umbrella of theocratic warfare, but to me it's dishonest and hypocritical. But then what's new?
