WHO ELSE IS GOING TO THE MEMORIAL THIS YEAR???

  When your're a fader and you've got a lot of family still in a yearly trip to the KH for the Memorial is in order.

  I'm learning that if you have family still in and you try to keep any kind of relationship with them, you'll never have a complete fade. There is going to be some sticky situations, one of the stickiest being the Memorial

  A big amen to that undercover! Even though the Memorial is the most blasphemious meeting they hold, it's the one they hold the dearest.

  Funny how successful they can be when they REALLY WANT TO at getting people to a meeting the way they do for the memorial.

  I'm going to get mobbed with "where have you been?" and "We've really missed you!"

  Ya, well last time I checked my phone number hasn't changed.........

  Mary, how true that statement is. Doncha wished you had the balls ovaries to actually say to them the latter? If they REALLY missed the fence sitters, they'd call at least once in awhile.

  There's one guy in particular I know will attempt a presumptuous bear-hug (he thinks he knows everyone that well and can't fathom why it might make some people uncomfortable).

  He's probably hornier than hell and uses your normal absence as an excuse to put his dinger on ya......don't let him get close to ya!

  I'm going of course since now I'm a good witness again For those of you that are going.....why not use it as an opportunity to see just how far un-biblical the JW Memorial actually is. See how much emphasis is actually put upon Jesus and the REAL meaning of the celebration.

  Too bad someone doesn't do a thread on " Let's see who can relate the most assnine quote from the memmorial this year." That would give all of you who HAVE to go something to do this year, plus it might make an intresting thread.....who knows?

  I do the bookkeeping for a Catholic Church and as I was there this morning,
  the door bell rang, the secretary went to open the door, and she was handed
  the invitation to the memorial....
  She came back to the office and without even looking at it threw it in the
  waste basket...
  I started to tell her about that memorial, and the passing of the "emblems"
  and the rejection of them by all but ca. 8000 JWs all over the world....
  and about the shunning practice....

  Family member #1 (JW) is coming from out of town to visit me & family member #2 (fader, who still holds on to the "Truth, but doesn't go to the meetings).

  Family member #1 & #2 informed me that they are going to the Memorial. No one has dare asked me.

  It's GREAT to be OUT.

  I think this is the third year I haven't gone.

  I too don't want to contribute to their inflated numbers.

  Looks like this may be the first year away in thirty years. Strange how it seems like a big step even though I disagree totally with their rejection of Christ at the Memorial and was always bothered by it.

  I also have not received an invitation and found out the date from JWD. I have not been thrown out, just missing in action.

  Went for the first two years after I was d'fed - first was ok but at the second we were stopped by elders on the way out who wanted to come round and try and get us to go back full time.

  This will be the 3rd year in my whole life I haven't been.

  Mum, dad, brother, gran, etc will all go - oh dear, always knew I was the black sheep of the family (or should that be black GOAT!)

  This is my second one to miss.

  I did go to a church one last year and this year since I'm a member of a church, I'll be eating it that Sunday before. (yes, I'll actually partake! )

  Not me. This will be my 7th year of not turning my nose up at Jesus.

  I had made a vow to myself to not ever set foot in a KH ever again when I DAed myself and I see no need to change that. THEY don't want ME---and I don't want THEM---so what would be the point?

  I live near several homes filled with JWs and not one has been anything but nasty and hateftul. Not one elder has stopped by to see if I "wanna come back into the fold" as they SAY they do.

  I have NO desire to ruin a perfectly peaceful evening by hanging out with presumptuous creeps who will only sneer at me.
