I first used Alta Vista then switched to Webcrawler.

Then I found a nifty program Copernic. It scanned up to ten search engines at a time and saves the searchs on my computer. This nifty program was the one that found one of the articles from my webpage on a p o r n site (edited so we don't get a lot of links to them in the ads). Which reminds me that I haven't installed it since my last format.

Now I use Google exclusively

but I am reinstalling Copernic

Lycos, and web crawler. Now the only thing I use is google.

Is there anything better than google?

Perhaps not, but because Yahoo works with a different spider (crawler) to find and rank web sites it may have things that Google doesn't have. There are also metasearch engines like AlltheWeb that give the results from several different search engines.

When I was in college, there was a computer resource center. They had access to "things" like Archie, Veronica, and Jughead. I, always, had to get help using them. I used Yahoo! the most until Google. I love Google and dogpile! I know before I "Yahooed" that I just used "index" type searches.

I recall feeling a pounding in my head the first time I typed "Jehovah's Witnesses" in the search engine; the pain was real. I didn't dleep that night, and the following four nights. Then it felt like everyone at the KH knew exactly what I'd been doing...
