Great Marillion tune, although I'm more of a "Fish" fan than Steve Hogarth.
Love cake. Have you ever listened to Soul Coughing?

TOOL's cover of Led Zeppelin's "No Quarter" is a good one.

Please forgive the lack of Youtube links, I have filtered internet at work and can't access the site
Marilyn Manson Covers
"I Put A Spell On You" - Creedence Clearwater Revival
"Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These)" - Eurythmics
"Personal Jesus" - Depeche Mode
"Tainted Love" - Soft Cell
In general, these are all songs I loved by the original artists, but the Manson covers have a little extra something that I feel improves the songs.
Kittie Cover
"Run Like Hell" - Pink Floyd
Metallica Covers
"Last Caress" - Misfits
"Stone Cold Crazy" - Queen
Guns N Roses Covers
"Hair of the Dog" - Nazareth
"Live & Let Die" - Paul McCartney and Wings

Sorry to be a stickler (can't help it, I'm too much of a goddamn know-it-all jerk)
"I put a spell on you" was written by Screamin' Jay Hawkins (check out his version, it's amazing, and the whole band was so sh*tfaced they could'nt remember recording it)
Tainted love by soft cell is in itself a cover, it was originally sung (though not written by) Gloria Jones...
I think the rest are all good!! You da man, though BW!!!

Thanks Av, I didn't do the full background check on the original artist portion (most was actually memory) I will look up the versions you posted.
Here's a couple more.

"For Whom the Bell Tolls" - Metallica
"Refuse/Resist" - Sepultura
"From Out of Nowhere" - Faith No More
Blackest Album (An Industrial Tribute to Metallica)I'll list the covering band since these are all Metallica tunes.
"For Whom The Bell Tolls" - Spew
"Damage Incorporated" - Razed In Black

Confession
Bruce Springsteen originally wrote and recorded "Blinded by the Light" in 1973. The song and album (his first) was not well received...

Three years later, Manfred Mann's Earth Band recorded it, and it hit big...
