Here's what I believe in:

You should live your life and try to make the world a better place for your being in it, whether or not you believe in God. If there is no God, you have lost nothing and will be remembered fondly by those you left behind. If there is a benevolent God, he will judge you on your merits and not just on whether or not you believed in him.

I'm one of the GB by the way and we all get a kick out of reading your stories. I'm kidding of course, but surely you realize this board must be one of their favorite reads? The sturm und drang, the angst, they've caused you must surely be deeply satisfying to such sick and perverse dired up old hateful sub-humans.

Clearly you are not quite so removed from the emotional umbilical cord - there is a great deal of angry emotion expresssed in that last sentence. Beware of lecturing about how we should be feeling - just share how you are feeling. This is a safe place to do that - and we all understand.

Wow! Hey! Thanks for so many replies! I was unsure how to catch anyone's eye on a board with so many people posting. I still have an older sister in the bOrg, so that's a real concern. Nah, no preaching here. Just trying to make a splashy entrance and not shove my foot tooo far up my mouth in the process. I've been lurking here for quite some time and have enjoyed the posts of MANY of you. I think this is a very helpful place. We really prolly otter make up some songs and poems directed specifically to the GB so we piss 'em off when they DO take a peek here. As to religion, I no longer have one. I do consider myself a "spiritual" person though as I already know many of you here do as well. I was very sacreligious after leaving the Dubs until I had an NDE. None of the "scientific" explanations hold up. I used to think it was all caused by hypoxia until I had my NDE. Not. Any. More. I do know that Jehovah is not real, that "God" is not some Person seperate from us, and selfless LOVE is the final reality. It's all you take with you when your body dies. I poke a lot of fun at crazy human religions and ideas about God. The first thing everyone needs to get straight is that She is black. Oh, and being a Pastafarian is a much better idea than being a Baptist or a Dub. At least the Flying Spaghetti Monster doesn't kill people and most of us really LIKE spaghetti. - Martin

Hi FireNBandits, and welcome to the forum

I am one who didn't go to another religion after leaving the jws, I thinj I'm totally religioned out after 25 years in the watchtower.

I do like being on this board though, and I doubt the wtbts think some of the anti jw posts are that entertaining, especailly by the ones who, by their own admission still attend meetings but no longer believe in watchtower doctrine. If anything, it serves to give them a more accurate picture of the current state of their "flock" than any of the yearly stats that jws seem so obsessed with ever will.
