I say let it go. You wanted it played at your wedding when you where a JW. That is past you now. There are plenty of better songs out there.
Do you think I should do this or not?

Someone on this board a while back mentioned that the lyrics to "Marriage Is God's Arrangement" go perfectly to the tune of the Muppet Show theme.
One of my kids sings it to that tune all the time now.

Maybe you guys are right. I was leaning towards yes and now I'm leaning towards no ..
I still don't know what I'll do.

Sorry Rene - I didnt read properly - I do apologise.
I just always thought it was a poor tune, I guess to the muppets theme wouldnt suit the solemnity of the occassion! Just go for whatever you feel comfortable with and will make the day yours.
I always planned to have Bitch by Meredith Brooks played at my wedding and I intended to storm down the aisle in black refuse sacks converted into a parody of a wedding dress!

Its not so much a gag as it is that the song means something to me.
there you go. There's your answer. If you want to play it then play it. :)
Enjoy yourself...make memories...if it means something to you go for it! :)

On a very practical level I would wonder about copyright implications.
I mean, a lawsuit on this issue might be even more fun than the celebration -- and I can already imagine a powerful defence speech pleading that this song was part of your life, and you actually paid the high price for it -- but you may not wish to pay a lawyer for that...

Renee, congrats on your marriage. I still have a fond place in my heart for many of the "Kingdom" songs. In fact I was singing/humming a couple of them today. I think many reflect fine, Scripturally correct thoughts. No need to attach the negatives to them. JMO

It's kind of funny. I think it sends out the wrong message though. Either way, have a wonderful wedding.
