What i miss from being a dub

  These are the things i remember always looking forward to as a dub and when they happened it was great.

  1. Last day of Convention/Assembly
  2. End of the Meeting
  3. End of the Ministry
  4. When an event was interrupted thus ending
  5. If i had a responsibility to escape the mind-numbing boredom
  6. If a Visiting Speaker failed to make it for the Sunday Meeting and it only included the Watchtower
  7. When the Sunday Watchtower was just Question & Answer cos of the C.O Visit, pity he then wasted all that saved time.
  8. No Ministry after Sunday Meeting cos of some reason
  9. When i faked illness or even death to get out of Meetings/Ministry etc

  For me, these were merely the "least sucky parts."

  I suppose the stories we picked up from pestering people in their own homes about how wrong their beliefs are is sort of a plus. Maybe. The occasional Satanist could brighten your day. Especially when they came to the door in their black ceremonial robe.

  I remember being happy, after having a "gustanado" in our city, because I didn't have to go to the meetings! Now, that's bad!

  Hi KW13,

  I used to look forward to all the things on your list, but I don't miss them now.

  To experience any of them would mean going back to being a jw, which is
  isn't something I'd ever contemplate doing.
  
  Maybe miss them is the wrong term, looking back with fondness at the
  better parts of being a mindless wts clone dub would be the way I would
  put it.

  You forgot - Meetings that are cancelled due to inclimate weather.

  Looked forward at the assemblies to the meals and checking out the beautiful JW girls that milled around in the crowds.

  I miss not having to think when I was a witness. I'm about wearing my brain out now that I have to use it.
