New track work

Do they ask for donations? Doesn't make sense, to just give out tracts, no matter how small,
if they don't ask for donations. The money has to keep rolling in.

One step at a time. They need to get the number of publishers UP so they can show
    growth.

They recognize that serious donations from "the field" are not covering much of their
literature costs, so they will pressure the active dubs to donate.

Step two is to continue collecting money at District Conventions. These are really just
Sales seminars for the WTS. They will release some (cheaper than past stuff) literature
and get the bulk of it paid for by voluntary guilt. Then they won't release as much of it to
the public as in the past.

I can see, eventually, requiring that JW's get the literature at DC's or not at all.

Step three is to coerce the JW's to make Return Visits on their interested ones, and
learn how to convince them to donate money. That's not going well, so they are stuck on
steps one and two. We can see the problems, and they will keep trying different solutions.
Hopefully, none of them will work.

Guess that Jw family would have to act 'Christian' for the long ride there and back.

Jeff, you would know better than most that a believer would willingly do this.
He gets to "count the time" and recruit someone to salvation. Even though
he pays for it, he sees it as service to God. WIN-WIN.

Thanks onthewayout. That explains it. Keep em paying. But one thing comes to mind. When my family went to the District Conventions, we were broke. Hotel, food, the drive, for how many days, in the 60's and early 70's, 4 or 5 days. We were a lower middle class family, and of course we could afford the 25 cent new release, but if they wanted more, I think it would have taken food out of us kids mouth.

Or, is that ok with them too????
