    Minimus:

You are absolutely right about everything in your post.

It was my observation that those "born in" kind of looked down on others who "came in" as adults. They try to hide this but it is a dirty secret among them. In my congregation, there was one particular male who was a worse gossip than many of the women. He felt it was his god-given right to talk about everybody else because his family was one of the first or older groups there. What a two-faced hypocrite! Anybody who came in new he secretly gave them the "low-down" on everybody who was there. Having been there for so long he knew much about many people and he even repeated things he shouldn't have. Part of the problem is that his mother was a busy-body and she may have given him a false sense of superiority.

But they say what goes around comes around and he got his comeuppance years later over something and he ended up going elsewhere because he felt he was not viewed favorably anymore.

It's not surprising given their unnatural and repressed upbringing and that they grew up to see themselves in isolation from a world which they consider to be satanic, they are a cultic product 100%. I knew a girl like that in the congo I was in (there weren't many born-into-it dubs there) she was very arrogant, also because her father was an elder.

Watch out for the third and fourth generation Jehovah's Witnesses.

Their DNA contains over 100 years of fase prophecies, changed doctrines and Theocratic Warfare techniques.

I was a 5th generation JW .. What about me?

I don't believe that anyone should be written off. Even those who are the most pompous, arrogant and insufferable are victims just like most of us were. They are products of their environment. And I'm sure that those of them who are now here are thankful to whomever showed enough interest or consideration to plant a seed of doubt, or otherwise help them get out of the borg.

It took me a few years after my conversion to realize how inbred JW culture is. You are so right about the born-in, home-schooled JW types. They are the most dysfunctional of all.

Thank the good lord my sister was able to keep her Pentecostal ex-hub and his from-the-cradle-Pentecostal second wife from pulling my nephew out of real school and home "schooling" him.

If a JW still doesn't "believe" in life insurance, they're usually fanatical.

If a JW never can see that the Society has changed positions or written beliefs, and always sticks up for the GB with comments like, Well.....the light DOES get brighter and brighter".....they are problematic people to be around.

Some may be carrying that much turmoil that they can't bear it.

On unleashing it to unsuspecting individuals they may subsequently be avoided and then word spreads till few will talk to them.

This can replicate what they've already experienced at the Kingdom Hall and through close family. Life can become completely surreal for them.

They're probably not that far away from returning to a genuinely nice individual but everyone unintentionally keeps them in that space - at arms length from normal social interaction and so the cycle continues!

It's sometimes difficult to tell one type of person from the other when the symptoms are so similar. And I've known individuals who've had a ball for most of their lives and proved to be the most unreasonable and judgemental individuals I've come across. And I don't know personally any 'whole life' JWs coz non talk to me so I'll have to take others opinions as better informed than me in some respects.

Hey.... I was a raised in, homeschooled JW with no life. Why don't you like me, Minimus? I am crushed - you don't even know me. :-) Honestly, tho.... Oh, and I had my own business and we employed only JWs too. And I will have you know that I do not fit your criteria of being a backstabber or gossip.

Well Vanilla, you must understand that I'm generalizing. Not all JWs are wack jobs either but I might post on them as being such, in general (if my mood was such). And besides, who couldn't like you???
