is "jehovah's spirit"? Inquiring ???I believe the above is the Comforter>>>>.The Holy Spirit. That Jesus said would come once he rose to the side of His Father. But of course in the WT is is just like electricity ---you have to plug into the elders to receive it. But In MY faith ( a Christian -though not a good one) the HOLY SPIRIT is my teacher.. He helps me through each & every problem & day

According to the Bible, you don't need to confessto any man.

It is not required in the JWs either (strictly speaking)

If you are ACCUSED of a sin based on another persons confession, then you have the biblical right to deny it as long as there were not two witnesses.

Well James 5:16 does tell us to confess our sins to one another. & if you have been reading all out posts you can say we on this site have done just that. we have admitted what we have done to one another very openly. WE ARE A GREAT GROUP>>>>

Sad as it all was, I think you did the right thing at the time Vitty. I mean sure you could have tried to convince your daughter all she had to do was apologize to Jehovah (and that's true) but it would not have stopped her fears about getting dfd by the elders. As it turned out she was right about that.

However others, including myself, have gone to the elders and voluntarily confessed to hidden sins and been dfd. So, correct me if Im wrong, I dont think there are any hard and fast rules to JC practices.

There is a big difference between the Catholic form of confession and the JW confession.
First, the Catholic confession is anonymous and the priest aids the person to confess their sins before God, thus achieving repentance, and then offers a way for the repentant one to regain their friendly status with God again,(much like Jesus saying to the sinner "go and sin no more")
Catholics rarely kill themselves over their sins, because forgiveness is so much a part of their faith. But the JWs can feel like suicide after they go and confess to the elders.
