    Everytime a Jehovah`s Witness die`s because of a WBT$ rule.They drink the Kool-Aid.....WBT$ has killed more Jehovah`s Witness,than any other organization on earth.The body count isn`t over.....1 Dead Jehovah`s Witness is worth 1,000 live ones,in WBT$ Advertising.....Dead Jehovah`s Witness`s are a nessecity.It keeps the live Jehovah`s Witness`s obedient to the WBT$...OUTLAW

You know, I watched that special on TV last week (about Jonestown) And I kept recalling the sister I studied with always saying that if they got the word from "Bethel"" to all go off and do something...maybe not suicide, but all meet somewhere just before the end...they would all follow. So I said "what if the governing body said for you all to go and jump off a bridge?" And they said they would follow without question. JONESTOWN...

I personally knew those people and went to school Redwood Valley Middle School with three of thier kids, we played together at recesses and I can remember sticking up for them when bullies would pick on them over their religion; I knew the feeling and could really empathize. They were good kids, and it made me real sick when I found out what happened to them.

I have no doubt that if my parents were offered the kool-aide and told, "see you in the new system, brother and sister." that they would drink it. It scares the crap out of me, but I know it would happen. They are so lost. Christ could return in all his glory and condemn the WTBTS and they would claim mass hypnosis or something and stick with the GB.

God I hate that corporation and the control that it has. Even though it cost me my family and every friend I had until I was 33 years old, I am so thankful that I was able to get my kids and I out of the cult. Truly scary, and if anyone thinks what happened in Jonestown couldn't happen in witness-land... you're kidding yourselves.

So unfortunately, the WTS is not as different from Jonestown as what we might think.

I saw the Jonestown documentary before and was struck by the similarity in mindset to the JW's. I do know of zealous JW families where they have moved to where the need is great, homeschooled their kids and immersed themselves totally in the shunning doctrine without batting an eyelash. I also know of what we call 'weak' or 'marginal' witnesses who gripe about a lot but who still back down on everything when confronted about anything. Many of those have the fear of dying at Armaggedon rooted so deep in their souls, that this is the one thing driving them to the meetings. I have no doubt at all, that if the society choose some vile method to end their existence such as Jonestown, it could be accomplished fairly easily. Brainwashing is a complex thing for while the logical half of the brain that would be screaming 'don't drink'...the brainwashed half of the brain would be screaming 'but if I don't'.

Fear of dying & glory of living vs logic......the fear and glory will take over in more than half of the people and is a primary reason why they remain inside forever. Those that don't believe but keep attending usually do so for emotional or familial reasons.

The only way this could happen in a world wide way however would be through a totally demented person at the top - not out of the question but unlikely. sammieswife.
