Followers want to believe it so they buy it big time, anything that goes well for them becomes a blessing from Jehovah, anything bad was Satan and this world getting at them.
Jesus did say that the world will hate you and the devil is a roaring lion waiting to devour somebody . That really just covers persecution . I've known dubs that died by alledged hunting accidents and car wrecks . I've often felt at times that God saved my life during some close calls , even tho I'm no dubby.

Hmm, so let me get this straight...there were worshippers of Jehovah who were dissatisfied with the rule of someone who was "Jehovah's anointed"...to the point where they engaged in open rebellion against him...yet they are mentioned in a favorable light in the Bible...
Gosh, I think there must be a modern-day application, but I can't quite put my finger on it...I can't imagine why the WT writers didn't make any sort of application here for us, can you?

What never sat right with me was the assertion that Jehovahs protcts protects his people as a group but not as individuals. What THE HELL kind of protection is that?

It was similar questions re David that used to make me wonder who this Jehovah God really is to be so unfair on his own people. Thanks for putting it so succinctly, as always, Blondie.
