For those that have been around for a while, it is a very boring talk especially if given by
a lousy speaker.
I don't know which one is more boring the "special talk" or the "public talk" at the district convention on Sunday,
after lunch. Never failed, I always fell asleep after lunch around 2 pm,
Pardon my ignorance, but what is the significance of a "Special Talk?" How are they different from other talks? ........ "never been a dub" poppers.
It happened almost 2000 years ago.
Matt 5-7, it is the only special talk that was or is truly worth getting excited over.
When I hear "special" I cannot but think of a sales pitch, special promotion, limited time, hurry hurry hurry. Sorry but it sounds like desperation to get others to come.
If it is special does that mean that the other 51 weeks are not really important to make?

Poppers..A Special Talk is much different than a regular talk..It`s the same old sh*t..But..It`s sh*t with a "Cherry" on top!..LOL!!...OUTLAW

yes it is this week-end. a lot of 1914 (with no mention of 607 BTW) and how bad the world is going.
I post a separate topic on earthquakes (that are mentioned in the talk) as I am puzzled on what the official position is.
there is nothing really special about the special talk, it is designed for "interested ones" and is given worldwide on the same week-end.

the talk is special only in the sense that it is given worldwide on the same day...unless a cong has a co visit, s.a.d., or a circuit assembly.
it follows the memorial but doesn't get the same attendences and even loyal jws dont consider it as important the same way as they do the memorial so dont make the same effort to attend if unwell, working, or on vacation.
