    Hi Hambeak!

Have had progressive lenses for the past 10 years - when I first got them I ended up putting them aside as I had heaps of trouble (like going down stairs & trying to read the speedo in the car). Then my ordinary glassses got trashed. That forced me to use the progressives & I now would not swap them for anything.

I spend much of my day in front of a screen so I have a pair of single sighted glasses without tinting for that use - the progressives were (and still are) a pain in the neck (quite literally) when looking at a screen.

I have been wearing progressive lenses since 2004. I love them. You can actually see at three distances, rather than two. As time moves on, you will not give a second though to moving your eyes to look through the right part of the glasses. Be sure to turn your head and look directly at an object, don't try to look sideways.

I have them for two years now, doing fine. It take time to get use to them, once you do there ok. I did not like the transitions, going from clear to dark.

Ditto. Had RK back in the days when it was done with a diamond sliver scalpel. Worked like a charm. 20 yrs later I started wearing glasses again as the Doc said would happen when I got older.

I got progressive glasses two years ago. Not only did I have to adjust to this, but I also got prisms in my glasses for the first time in my life (I have constant double vision without it, and I still have it very often in spite of it), plus I got Irlen tinting to help me see 3D better (my depth perception has always been quite defective). It was all a huge adjustment...took two weeks for things to look fairly normal. Since the Irlen tinting is quite dark, I use this pair in well-lighted places (like sunglasses), and a non-tinted pair for nighttime or some indoor viewing.

Hambeak, I had my progressives set for computer viewing, since this is where I spend most of my time. They may have set the progressive line too low for you.

Call me a wimp, but I still can't wear mine. I have progressive lens bifocals, and I got so nauseated and disoriented feeling when I moved my head, on stairs, etc that I gave up and went back to the 20+ pairs of dimestore reading glasses all over the house. My distance vision is good.

I gave it a good try, I think. The optometrist said when I need them bad enough, I'll try harder.
