Thanks elsewhere, on the ball as usual.

I don't know if this will help those in the congregation who want to say something more than just parroting what the paragraph says. It seems that there are comments in there that could be taken either way....typical!

Have we noticed that , in the past the cong. was served by "servants", now they are governed by "overseers"? - just a thought..........

I was the WT conductor for many, many years. From this letter, it seems little has changed in the last decade or so.

What incredible nitpicking. Allowing each person to comment at least once but not more than two or three times. In reality, some comments from some people were worth 100 from some others.

And don't do any research on your own, wouldn't want to run the risk of "overshadowing" the incredible scholarship of the WTS writing department!

Thanks for the letter. Once again, I get to see these faster as an apostate than I did when I was an elder! I also get to see how happy I am not to have to deal with this sort of rigid information control and micro-managing.

Why not just have the WT conducted by automated robot? He could randomly select "approved" publishers to answer - or do what our WT conductor did - if you wanted to comment on a paragraph, you find him before the meeting and he writes your name down on the paragraph.

Thanks 4 the letter! These letters show clearly how EVERYONE has to be a ROBOT. Let's see if they can get all this participation with on 3 comments per publisher. The Society really makes things difficult for themselves!

So, if the congregation isn't lively enough for you, you elders and your family should make the
meeting more lively with your well rehearsed comments. They should be strictly adhering to the
    material.

Conductors, turn your brains off and use only the material given. Too much outside information
suggests that it's okay to use outside information. Any good mind-control cult knows you have
to do it the leader's way for the most brainwashing effect.

    A ten-year-old kid could conduct a "WT-study" - just reading the questions.

They castigate the elders and yet they are volunteers who give their time free to serve in fact the man made WTS organisation and not god. It's bad enough being a R&F JW but being an elder takes up even more time. But they deserve it for obeying the fraudsters known as the FDS.

i used to take the wt..i loved it.

i would study it 4 times during the week so that i understood not just the answers but the sentiments and the scriptural backing.

i went to a kh in florida on holiday and the wt conducter acknowledged no-one by name, thanked no-one and read no scriptures..no wonder you guys in u.s. think the meetings are boring if this was anything to go by..in fact the next sunday we never went (and we never missed meetings on hols)

i remember during one c.o visit the wt was one of those that had 4 major sections where whatever it was about was applied - to familys- to youths - to congs - eg....and there was one particular paragraph in each section that specifically answered the review box questions...so i arranged for a representative of each section to read the paragraph during the discussion.

after the meeting the circuit overseer came up to me with the directions for meetings during the c.o visit and told me that paragraphs were not to be read ..i said yes i know - this means that not all paragraphs are to be read in the normal fashion cos we only got half hour, it doesnt mean its not allowed to read any.

    silly me..to think i could reason with a c.o

How about, "that was an interesting way to do that." ? It's not a compliment if he doesn't mean to
give one, but it doesn't start out slamming you.

Ray Franz said that the spiritual shepherds who are not shepherds are really spiritual taskmasters.
They just read the instructions from mother and tell you what to do.
They don't say, "Why did you do that?" Just "Don't do that."
They don't say "What's wrong, are you okay?" Just "Be regular in meetings and field service, and
    all will be alright."

The reality is the the F&DS doesn't write probably 90% of these study articles at all, but the articles are merely approved for publication by them at a meeting. They might request than an article be written to impress a ceratin point on the brothers. Important stuff , like not saving blocks of seats at conventions, stay out of the snack machines, and reserving your motel room under our name at our approved locations so that we can get free lodging for our Bethel minions.

It doesn't take much side research ( using the Internet) to disprove a lot of the claims made in these WT articles, either. No doubt WT study conductors have experienced a shipwreck of faith from doing research for their Sunday WT study.
