Dear Skeptic1914,
Please accept my condolences for your loss. I was just talking to a friend about my "crazy" mother, who, despite her attitudes and behaviors, loved me very much. She opened up the world for me through art, music and literature. Maya Angelou said that whatever your relationship with your parents, you will miss them when they are gone.
Before I came here to JWD - last summer - I would have sided with your mother, begging, cajoling, pleading and praying. Maybe a more moderate version of the aforementioned. Misdirected obviously, but that's a parent's undying devotion for a child.
Aren't we glad to be here?
