I believe you've missed the point which was that the WTS use a term found only once in scripture (and then it's in apocalyptic language), to mislead their followers into believing that without becoming one of JWs they will be exterminated at an event they call Armageddon.

It's not a matter of ridiculing the Bible as ridiculing the error in interpretation. As with much else of Dub theology they fail to read the Bible "in context" i.e. who was it written to, for what purpose and what were the circumstances at the time.

Witnesses selectively take one word or expression out of context to teach what they like to call "The Truth"™ but which is more accurately called "The Lie".

What do I believe Armageddon is? As referred to at Revelation 16:16 it appears to be the final overthrow of evil by God.

Should christians teach it? No, christians have been given the gospel to preach as commanded by Christ. He never commanded the proselytising of people of all nations with the threat of "you will die at Armageddon".

Precisely. The simplicity of that explanation is beyond the grasp of Jw's, entirely occluded by the we/them mentality.

Considering everyone is wicked when compared to God.......I would say if the wicked are to be destroyed...we are all dead with me probably one of the first to go.

I also wonder if the the first intended target will be the intelligent predators..or white collar leaders...or if it will be the less intelligent criminals who try to prey on others as well to recover their losses sustained from their leaders?

Will our Savior be a predator who preys upon the intellectual intelligent predators..or one who is like them and protects them as they continue to prey upon the weak who look to them for guidance and direction.

That my question on the matter.

Exactly! and interesting you should raise this - of course the dubs don't see it that way. To them the wicked are everybody else apart from themselves.

Contrast this with the christian doctrine of salvation by grace and we get to see how wide is the gulf.

The impact of the gospel of Jesus Christ is found in this, that he came to save sinners.

How often BOE and JC's have missed out on this! To them sin is what they are judging at a JC meeting, it's what people do when they commit "Gross Sins"™.

Armageddon is not the annihilation of the entire world of non-JWs. Not even Russell taught that, in fact it was an idea that would have been abhorrent to him. It was Rutherford that introduced such a Barbaric concept after his failed "millions now living will never die" campaign, and is an slur on the personality of Rutherford more than anything else.

And in anticipation to Mad returning to say JWs don't teach that only JWs will be saved here are a few quotes:
