I just bought a new computer...........a pricy one at that! What i want to know is this. The one I bought says it has 4 GB of ram. When I check............it says 3.24 GB. (im checking under my computer and right clicking) Now, if I restart or reboot, it wont give me the actual size, it goes right to the windows xp window and boots right up without giving me the info like it use to with my old computer. Is there a way to find out besides what im doing? Did I get screwed out of RAM? The blonde wants to know!
What is your computer made of? I need help!!

Holy crap, what do you need all that RAM for? You have way more than enough, and I bet you aren't even playing any games or doing anything taxing.
Go to "Run" and then type "dxdiag" in the box. That will give you the total RAM for your computer. Really, you don't need any more than 2GB, so whatever you have over that amount is gravy.

Who are you?
From the Start Menu in XP....Right Click on My Computer....(When you right click a menu will appear) Click on Properties...It lists your system specs on the front page
Hope this helps

Oh, rightrightright.... I don't think I need any more than 2GB. I'm doing ok on 1GB, but I bump my head on the "RAM ceiling" playing certain games.

Who are you?
Theory #2
If you were reading the System Properties in XP from My Computer it looks like this
Computer
Pentium(r) 4 3.4GHz
3.40 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM
Is it possible that you have a 3.24 GHz processor with 4GB of RAM?

I just checked and I have 512 Mb or RAM . You have about 7 or 8 times more
