It does amaze me how few JW comments you find on the Internet. You would think they would use it to spread their views and get leads for JW indoctribnation studies. Interesting , indeed how quickly JW's get burned whenever they try and defend their beliefs and the WT Society on the Internet. They apparently learn quickly to avoid being made a fool of and stay away from the Internet.

I think that may have to do also with the fact the society said to not have any websites defending the WT online, just to have the one JW site from the orginization. So with that one article they even silenced the best apologists. There are Witnesses online but they start their own chat rooms and message boards and because of their isolationist culture they just go through the net with blinders on.

I watched one pro-JW website, Paradise Cafe, fall apart within a couple years. The founder got Df'd , I believe and he then blocked everyone who criticized him and they started a temporary refuge board. I guess they might have a permanent web-forum now. The banned ones at the refuge board were sounding an awful lot like disallusioned JW's who were headed on their way out of the KH, not the cocky "we have the truth" ones from the beginning two years previously. The common denoninator that brings them down is "free speech". Pro JW websites/chatrooms/bulletin boards that tolerate free speech and individual ideas will all lead JW's away from the mind control of the WT Society every time.

Yeah definetly I can see that happening. If you can disagree with one teaching it gets easier to disagree with others. I'd like to see some pro-JW sites now that do tolerate free speech and see what happens. Most of the boards that I see are basically younger ones talking about going to an assembly and what they do afterwards (which is mostly drink until they pass out).

    Sir82 and Alligator Wisdom --

Huh??? You've gotta be kidding with your juvenile gossipy posts. You might as well be saying, "Girl...oh no that's not really a Louis Vuitton purse..."

In my first couple of posts here on this forum, you impugn my honesty? Out of everything that I said in this post, you focus on my resume? Weird!

Who cares if it was a District, or Planetary, or National, or an Anthill Convention? Who cares if it was a Red talk or a Blue talk or a Green talk?

    (Evidently you.)

I was simply trying to say that I was rather involved with the organization and experienced the Borg on such a level, as I said! because this thread is called EXPERIENCES.

And it was over frikkin 15 years ago. So, I all I know is I was at a big stadium with lots of people, in an approved Witness-male suit (uniform) giving talks. Whoop-tee-do. And just to be clear, because evidently dates are important to some (ex) Witnesses, when I say I "left" in 1992, I meant psychologically, but formallly disassociated later.

I thought this was a welcoming and safe place.

5go, can you elaborate on the WT change you are referring to? Thanks
I think the WT change he's talking about is the Watchtower being split into one Watchtower for placing with people and new studies and one Watchtower for only faithful JW's. Since assuming everyman won't have access to this magazine they'll be able to say more outlandish things without fear of it coming out on the 'net or otherwise. Kind of like the Kingdom Ministry.

Yes, I was talking about that change I agree with tuesday but, it will get on the internet even if I have to scan it on !

Franco phile, I was doubted at first too as to my background. It so happens my circumstance was a liitle different than the usual as yours was. Beleive me you are welcome here. Understand however, that some might feel a little put off by your meteoric rise. I have a completly faultless active brother who is a great public speaker and was born in it as I was and he's not even a ministerial servant at 42. My dad just became an elder after forty years of shoe shining. You are quite unusual. I don't hold this against you of course but most I think have paid their dues in spades to get anywhere in that shithole. I just wonder why they treated you differently than others.

The internet is only helping "worldly people "learning about the watchtower and that's why you will not see many getting baptized.

Hard core JW are not being affected that much from the internet because they realize the "evil" of it, they are being warned by the society to avoid anything negative against the "truth".

I know many witnesses that do not fully agree with the "unique teachings of JW" but they still feel that they have most of the truths and that's why they stay.

sir, I understand your scepticism but in my experience things can be wierder. One of the elders that disfellowshipped me became an elder after only being baptised for 6 months. In smaller congregations in far-a-way places this can happen due to not having enough "able bodied men."
