Oh Co Co - sorry to hear about all your computer problems!! Computers can sometimes be so frustrating!!!!

Had a dentist appointment today - not real exciting!! Then I called up Mouthy and we had lunch together and a wonderful afternoon visiting. Then it was back to the dentist for a cleaning (they had a cancellation). While having my teeth cleaned they supplied me with a nice warm pillow for my neck, and I had a hot paraffin wax treatment on my hands! Nothing like that to take your mind off of the dentist visit!

    Mrs. Bee visits with Mouthy!

How wonderful that you were able to spend time with our straight-talkin' Grannie! A friend from Bethel knows Grace, as she, too, is from the same area originally. And such treatment at the dentist's office! I think I'd sign up for more visits if I could get all those perks.
Did some long-overdue maintenance on my computer, i.e., cleaned up certain files of MUCH unnecessary data; WINDOWS recommends what to delete. Click here, click there. It's done. For whatever it's worth, JWD is working very fast now. And I'm still on! Better not hold my breath! Thanks for your sympathy, BB. It is much appreciated.

I'm completing ELSA LANCHESTER HERSELF. I knew her best as Mrs. Charles Laughton and as the Bride of Frankenstein, little realizing how multi-faceted her talents were and in what other arenas of the world of entertainment she performed. And what a glimpse into Hollywood of years gone by. Ah, nostalgia! It's become a thing of the past.

    Hi everyone

I had a day away from the shop and computers today, I was helping run a stall at a conference. The change of scenery did me good but I'm tired out - and I still have my essay to finish ...I think I'll just go intravenous with the caffeine tonight!

CoCo - have you had your computer checked out to see if you've had a corrupted MS update at some point? (Assuming you run MS that is!). They can cause havoc without you realising what it is, or even that you have a problem! It happened to our shop computer - it just ran slower and slower over several weeks until it was almost unusable - the engineer had to restore the system to how it had been about 2 months earlier and then redo all the updates.

BB - I sooo envy you being able to visit granny Grace! Maybe one day I'll get over there.

    Thanx for your suggestions, Emo.

What you described was close to my experience, but only on JWD. I cleaned up one disk of temp net files [mostly JWD, I'm sure!] and INSTANTLY I was back to old times. I called a computer shop and they mentioned getting a MS update to help with another problem. I had no idea that such could be corrupted, yet it happened at your business. On another forum I cannot post or start a thread - logging error, or some such thing - and the whole system has to be shut down. Wish I knew how to figure these problems out, but even the techs pull their hair out, I understand.
I'm just happy to be back here. As it is, it took me two months after registration to figure out what my username was, thanx to Kitten Whiskers. Some of us [moi] are really slow on the draw.

Thank you again and a great evening to all!

    Greetings, Friends!

Hoping you all had a wonderful weekend, I just had to mention what a wonderful day Sunday was, attending a local concert of orchestral and choral music. This was a major move for me - to do something for the sheer enjoyment of it all and not feel guilty. I was so moved by the brilliant and heart-felt performance that I found myself rushing up to the stage afterwards, congratulating the musicians for their professional and stirring interpretation. The Schubert, in particular, was suberb! I likewise expressed thanks to the contributors of this bit of local "sonic" color, whose dollars and hard work bring such high-class culture to our mountain community.
After so many years absent from the real world, I find it wonderful to participate once again in events that feed the spirit and soul.

    Hi all

Well I got my essay finished and submitted at 2.30am last Thursday! I now have another one to complete by this Friday - then I'll have a revision week next week and exams the week after - Then I can relax for the summer!! My eyes are sore fro spending so much time staring at computers, not good.

I'm glad you made a grounbreaking move forward CoCo, it sounds like it was a really good concert as well, keep moving forward, one step at a time.

Yesterday morning I preached at Church and then a friend treated me to lunch. After that we went for a short walk along the local canal towpath. It's absolutely ages since I did anything like that so it was a welcome change to going home and sitting by myself with the cats for company.

    Greetings, All!

A bright new day looms ahead. Apart from running afoul of a foul-smelling fowl that I had purchased for dinner last night, I'm hoping for a good day. Off to market to exchange the pullet surprise for something a little less toxic. What with e-coli found in beef and more than one encounter with foul fowl, I'm wondering if a steady diet of oatmeal might be a saner and safer regimen.

Good news for you, Emo! Give those eyes a break - they're the only set you have. What was the subject of your sermon on Sunday? Sounds as if you had a wonderful day. Wishing you many more of the same!

A happy and prosperous day to all.............

    Greetings!

It's been a loooong day at work today - We got a massive order for books that we don't normally supply and its taken me the best part of 5 hours to do the ordering from different suppliers. Still, if it's good for the business, it's worth the effort :-)

I finally got lunch at about 3pm! Then I had one of those aimless type of customers in the shop - didn't know what she wanted. To be honest I think she just wanted somebody to talk to, so we she talked and talked ... I don't mind listening ... for around 45 minutes ... and by then I'd missed the ordering deadline for my regular book supplier! Ah well, an extra days wait won't kill anyone. Only 20 minutes left at work then I'm going to Mr & Mrs Pubsinger's for tea and Bible study group. My night away from the computer!

CoCo - the sermon on Sunday was ironically about perfect timing and things working out even if they don't seem to go to plan at the time - maybe I needed reminding before I got to today!! I'm glad to hear you evaded the foul fowl and hopefully you now have a more edible one.

    Wishing you a great day!

It's been a few days since I've been able to post very much. I had my eye surgery on Tuesday - I'll start a thread about it later for all those that were asking about the procedure. The rest of Tuesday I pretty much slept. Hubby would wake me up when it was time for my eye drops, then it was back to la la land. The pill they gave me really knocked me out!!

Yesterday I went back for my first follow up appointment. They said everything looked good. My left eye is still kinda "fuzzy" but that is supposed to be normal as well. I was a bit worried when I noticed that!! I really felt almost normal yesterday and was able to go outside and putter around the garden.

Today I'm meeting a friend for coffee, and another for lunch - to show off my "glassless" face! lol

It's going to be a hot and humid day today - so I'll be trying to keep cool!

    Have a good one everybody!

Thannks, BB, for the update. Glad all went well and that you got some good sleep out of the procedure! Stay cool and keep us posted. Enjoy the time out with your friend.

Off to clean an elderly neighbor's house, then to the gallery, piano lessons and, finally, my AL-ANON meeting. A busy but productive day ahead, to be sure!

    Peace and love to all....

    CoCo
