I cry everytime I read this and I thought you might enjoy
reading it. If you already have it just delete it.
    Love you!

Jehovah, our GOD will never let go of us. It’s up to us not to let go of Jehovah.

Some years ago on a hot summer day in south Florida a little boy went for a swim in the old swimming hole behind his house. In a hurry to dive into the cool water, he ran out the back door, leaving behind shoes, socks, and shirt as he went. He flew into the water, not realizing that as he swam toward the middle of the lake, an alligator was swimming toward the shore.

His mother in the house was looking out the window saw the two as they got Closer and closer together. In utter fear, she ran toward the water, yelling to her son as loudly as she could. Hearing her voice, the little boy became alarmed and made a U-turn to swim to his mother.

It was too late. Just as he reached her, the alligator reached him. From the dock, & the mother grabbed her little boy by the arms just as the alligator snatched his legs.

That began an incredible tug-of-war between the two. The alligator was much stronger than the mother, but the mother was much too passionate to let go. A farmer happened to drive by, heard her screams, raced from his truck, took aim and shot the alligator.

Remarkably, after weeks and weeks in the hospital, the little boy survived. His legs were extremely scarred by the vicious attack of the animal. And, on his arms, were deep scratches where his mother’s fingernails dug into his flesh in her effort to hang on to the son she loved. The newspaper reporter who interviewed the boy after the trauma, asked if he would show him his scars. The boy lifted his pant legs. And then, with obvious pride, he said to the reporter, “But look at my arms. I have great scars on my arms, too. I have them because my Mom wouldn’t let go”.

You and I can identify with that little boy. We have scars, too. No, not from an alligator, but the scars of a painful past. Some of those scars are unsightly and have caused us deep regret.

But, some wounds, my friend, are because Jehovah has refused to let go. In the midst of
your struggle, He’s been there holding on to you. He wants to protect you and provide for you in every way but sometimes we foolishly wade into dangerous situations, not knowing what lies ahead.
The swimming hole of life is filled with peril and we forget that the enemy is waiting to attack. That’s when the tug-of-war begins - and if you have the scars of His love on
your arms be very, very grateful. He did not and will not ever let you go.

You just never know where a person is in his/her life and what they are going through. Never judge another persons scars, because you don’t know how they got them.

Also, it is soooo important that we are not selfish to keep this message without forwarding them to someone else. Right now, someone needs to know that Jehovah loves them, and you love them too~~~~ enough to not let them go.

Anyone else have a "touching" email from a family member?

I thought i would "forward it" to all my JWD friends - OK does everyone have there WT studied for tomorrow's lesson?

Born of a paranoid fear that the Devil is out there waiting to get you.. BTW if Jehovah tries so hard to keep hold of us, how come his "spirit appointed" elders don't give a sh**t if we drift away? Shepherding doesn't seem to happen around here..

At least your neice thought of you..

True Blues Bro - she calls me once a year to remind me of my sister's anniversary and very occassionally i will receive an email (typically like this) from her.

But, on the good side, she did get a few attributes from her aunt ; she gives her heart to the things she loves - so do I - she has given her heart to JWland - as i did - hopefully her heart will make her realize that turning your back on a friend in need is wrong in so many ways. If it wasn't for disfellowshipping i would probably still be a JW - I turned my back on a friend that was disfellowshipped - my heart KNEW it was wrong. Maybe one day her heart will KNOW as well.

Hmmm, I don't have any scars on my arms. Funny, I don't have any scars on my legs either. And what I want to know is who the hell was the farmer? Seems like he's the real hero, not the surprisingly ineffective Devilgator, nor the unsurprisingly impotent Jehovamama. So... who's the farmer, and what is his antitypical gun?

I noticed several “watchtower story lines” in the email.

But a little bit of a twist, instead of an angel running off the bad guy a worldly man helped save the young one – will he still be destroyed in the big A? Question to the readers maybe?

It is just sad, she is a really wonderful girl - i hope one day she will get out - but with my sister and BIL i really doubt it.

What a load of cod's wallop! Who's to say my version isn't just as true?:

The alligator = the WTS - that has the boy (JWs) by the lower extremities

The mom = the real, life-saving truth about the bOrg

The farmer = the support of other apostates, such as Ray Franz, JWD - exposing the truth about the WTS

The farmer's gun = the internet, giving us access to the truth, and finally destroying the WTS

    KA-BOOM!

    Bluesbrother,

I totally agree. Shepherding didn't happen around here, either. In a casual announcement from the CO, he said that if you didn't get a shepherding visit, you didn't need one. Who do they think they are? Many in the congregation came to him and the PO to let them know a visit would be appreciated, then this announcement. "They truly care for the flock."

I don't have any scars on my arms. Funny, I don't have any scars on my legs either.

Ditto. And definitely not from either of my parents.

Nice how they use the old JW guilt trick to get email forwarded - who needs 7 years of bad luck when you could be labeled "selfish" for not forwarding junk email!

Would it bother her to know that a JW has borrowed that story from a non-JW christian?

    http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/a/alligator.htm

Just google any sentence from the story and you'll find it on a thousand jesusfreak sites.

They have to have made that crap up. You have to love the way they make pain and suffering into a good thing.
