There are many things in the workplace that they make big deals over... (there's a fella where I work who's a JW)

He don't eat any cake that's 'birthday cake'

He don't go to the Thanksgiving luncheons that they have every year - a day when no work gets done, and lots of good food gets consumed

He don't like it when he sneezes and someone sez 'bless you!'

Yall know all of these...

Ironically - at one company I worked at, I knew a JW who worked there (a different fella from the one mentioned above). Whenever they had the monthly 'birthday cake', in the conference room, he was right in there getting his share. I asked him once, 'Do Jehovah's witnesses now eat birthday cake?' (or somethink like this). He said "It's not birthday cake - it's just 'good' cake."

JWs also make big deals about being offended, especially if the person offended is a "Pioneer", "MS", "Elder". I guess they feel it is a big deal if their reputation or feelings are hurt. But, if somebody else's feelings are hurt who happens not to be in the above categories they would be told they have to be forgiving, etc., etc. The expression "cover it over with love" would be said. Yeah, I'll cover it over with you-know-what.

Some people there certainly felt they were more important than others.

Aaahh yes - water guns!! That was pretty much the ONLY thing I remember not being able to have as a kid. We pretty much had/did everything else (even celebrating bd's to a certain extent, pinatas, smurfs, Walt Disney etc), but NO water guns!! Go figure!
