When all my stars are perfectly alligned it hits me, and then I'm happy. Its fleeting and rare.
I should be happy tomorrow night, Ill be playing a musical show from 7to 11, that's about as good as it gets for me.

I've had a phone call from my x this morning, she hasn't heard from me in a while and wanted to make sure I was OK. I don't know why but it just made me smile whole day long (small thing but truly powerful).
But to answer your question, I've gone a full circle running after big impressive things and came to realize that all I need in life I already have, air in my lungs, job that I love and most importantly people I can truly call friends. Lately, I also made a whole lot of new acquaintances and very quickly just about every single one of them became over night very close friends, friends with same interests and views on life and concerns for planet we live on and wanting to do something about it.
I came to realize what I suspected for a long time to be true, that we can only live in a moment, not past or future. So I try to truly treasure every moment as I go along...
The kisses from my children when I drop them off at school (they always struggle to be the first to plant one on Mama).
The caress of a slight breeze across my neck and shoulder on a warm day
The songs of the birds in the morning and dusk as I lie in the hammock
Watching nature shows of animal families and the closeness of the parent to their young (we can learn a lot from them as a society!)
Coffee with lots of flavored creamer
my husband kissing my neck and forehead (right now!!!!)
a new magazine in the mail to leisure over
The weekend- when we are all home and can relax and play together!!!!
Life is a joy when it takes little to make you happy. I have a greater appreciation for life and the people in my life now. It is amazing how a change of colors in a room can make a difference. Feeling blue? A hot bath, scented candles, cuddling cats, a glass of wine, hot soup, and a funny movie. A BA in psychology, and that's my recipe for happiness.
