Um.....I don't understand this part.....you mean if your wife gets pregnant you don't get health insurance from her employer?!
I've already decided that if I or my wife were to require surgery, we would do a vacation surgery in her country of origin,,, There we can pay cash or charge any medical operations that we may need. That is how messed up it is here in the states. I have personally met people that have had medical procedures done overseas in India. It's getting to be a common thing for US citizens to do nowadays.
A couple of years ago, I met an anesthesiologist who was originally from Canada but now living in the States. When I asked him why he moved, he unashamedly admitted "for the money." He was "only making" about $400,000/year practicing in Canada, whereas living in the States, he was making over $2,000,000. Poor bastard. Imagine having to scrape by on a measley $400,000 a year. While having his salary quadruple was great for him, it comes with a hefty price tag: his astronomical fees have to be paid for by either an insurance company which drives up premiums, or by the poor sap who makes an average or below average wage who can barely afford it. Greedy bastard.
