Oh God yeah, I was told all the time that I wouldn't see High School, and coming this September I'm going to go for my Master's. I think I'm going to remind my mother about this when my kid is born, that should be hilarious. The end is right around the corner, if you mean by around the corner the distance from the Earth to the Sun.

And the deception still goes on, I wonder why anyone still gives credibility to the GB of the JWs after they cried out wolf in so many false alarms. There must be some kind of masochistic element in their followers doing this. The end was supposed to come nearly 100 years ago in 1914 and since then it's always about to be, year after year for 93 years.

I'm another one. I was told at the start of every school year that "this will probably be the last year you'll have to go because THE END is soooooo close now! This old world cannot possibly last another six months!" Somehow the "old world" always managed to hold out.

How can you develop any sort of ambition to even try to do well with that kind of crap shoved down your eardrums from such an early age. So it became that life simply never mattered. And all along those "in charge" of the WTS knew full well what a load of BS it all was. I despise the WT for all the harm they've done to the millions that have come in contact with them.

Yeah, the Witnesses told my parents Armageddon would be here before I started school. Then when I started school, the Witnesses told me that Armageddon would be here before I started high school. When I started high school, they told me I'd never graduate, get married in this old system or have kids in this old system.

I'm almost 63. Grade school, high school, some college, wife, 4 sons, one grandson. The Witness people told me Armageddon would be here before they got old and died. Guess where they are today . . .

Let's see ... in our family it was: 1) that my mother would never graduate high school; 2) my mother's children would never graduate high school; 3) my mother's grandchildren would never graduate high school. Wrong on all counts!

    Same story here.

Four generations of witnesses who would never go to school. Now most are dead and the ones left still believe.

It seems like all of us have a similar story to tell here!
If it wasn't so tragic (and believing in this sort of crap does result in harming people)- then it would be laughable.

Does the WTS itself still believe what they are saying
    - or have they painted themselves into a corner years ago, from which they cannot get themselves out of?
    - or is it a case of repeating a lie so often that you end up coming to believe it yourself?

But then again, they might all just be bloody idiots!

    Jack.
