Furthermore, how the hell am I supposed to be afraid of a Venom who's no more bigger than Spidey himself?
Venom really needs a movie to himself. He was good for a while. Venom versus carnage would be good.

Other characters I hope to see in their own movies soon ...

In January 2001, producer Joel Silver approached Todd Alcott to write the Wonder Woman screenplay with Silver Pictures backing the project. [1] Early gossip included actresses such as Mariah Carey, Sandra Bullock, and Catherine Zeta-Jones for the role of Wonder Woman. [2] Sandra Bullock was a strong candidate for the project, according to producer Leonard Goldberg in a May 2001 interview. [3] The project did not take off for the time being, but instead went through various screenplay drafts written by Alcott, Jon Cohen, Becky Johnston, and Philip Levens. [4] By August 2003, Levens was replaced by screenwriter Laeta Kalogridis. [5]
It's in production, and will be filmed in Greece.
I can't wait!!!!!!
Do you think we will ever see...
... or is he just too environmentally unfriendly?
Personally, I would love to see The Greatest American Hero turned into a movie. Good thing they released the TV show on DVD.
(As far as Spiderman goes, the Jayhawk family will wait for it to come out on DVD and buy it.)
I loved the bit where Parker went to the Jazz club with the new girl - quite funny

Haven't seen it yet, but I used to read the comics about 20 years ago. I always liked the spiderman character because he made wisecracks, and because he was vulnerable...unlike superman, who is so strong and invincible that I find him boring-how can you care about a character that is assured of winning?
As to the comments about wonder woman; I wouldn't hold your breath. Production is liable to be seriously delayed while they pick a new director. Meanwhile, every time any brunette actress gives a semi-decent performance in something, there's a buzz about whether she would make a good 'next wonder woman'. I hear that Lynda Carter personally would prefer that Catherine Zeta Jones do it, and I think she's an excellent choice, but apparently Hollywood feels she's too old. My second choice would be Rachel Weisz (from the Mummy movies) but I think she's in roughly the same age bracket, so she's probably out too.
Sandman becomes an invincible sand monster, he just stops fighting the police and then comes up and apologizes to Spidey. WTF??? "Oh, I'm sorry bro, here, let's hug."
I agree with the above assessment...it was like the superfriends at the end. Everyone was crying and forgiving.
I thought they tried to cram too much into one film. I don't mind seeing Harry as the Green Goblin (that had already been set up in 2) but I'd have much preferred for either Sandman or Venom to be the other villian and not both. This was the first time I though Raimi hit a few wrong notes. For example, Mary Jane is clearly jealous of Peter's fame and it's a wonderful setup but ultimately there is no payoff. I thought the interlude with Harry forcing her to break up with Peter was poorly handled and convoluted. And why for example doesn't Harry reveal Spiderman's secret identity? Wouldn't that hurt him worse than breaking up with Mary Jane?
I didn't have a problem with Topher Grace being Venom, but again way too little time was spent developing him, as well as Thomas Hayden Church (who I thought did a much better job with what he had). I thought Harry's switch to Peter's side wasn't believable; it happened too quick, I mean Harry had hated Spiderman/Peter for two movies and all of sudden because he was scarred while fighting Peter and his butler says he loves him, he's switches sides?
I also thought the emo-meets-Saturday Night Fever portrayal of evil Peter was over the top and went on way way too long (okay I get the point). It just got silly after a while. It would have been better to just have Peter show up Mary Jane at the jazz bar and cut the other nonsense.
So has anyone heard if they're doing Spiderman 4? I've heard rumblings that Raimi won't do it, and if Raimi won't do it neither will Tobey McGuire or Kirsten Dunst.
Lack of "We are Venom" lines: lame.
I also wish that Venom would've got more screen time.
I hear that a Magneto and a Wolverine movie are out this year, if I remember correctly.

I read in FLM mag that it will be made, it just may be delayed. I agree that Catherine would be awesome. Too OLD???? Maybe they can get someone young and talented like Lindsay Lohan......or Ashlee Simpson.
For all those people holding their breath on DC movie adaptations, please watch this video. Pretty much sums it up for me:

For all the really negative reactions on Spiderman 3: "It's not as good as Spiderman 2" (Whine whine whine)
I just watched it again this week, after two years, and I gotta say, #2 is just as goofy as #3.
Sloppy script? Doc Ock "needs money" to finance his fusion reactor dingus, so he steals bags of cash from a bank (some of it in coins) to "buy equipment". From WHERE? Reactors-R-us? U-Need-A Titanium Frameworks supply? How does he go about purchasing this stuff. "Hey, Murray! There's a guy at the parts counter with a lot of newly minted bills, and rolls of quarters, and he wants to buy a power matrix and thermo reaction coupler!" "Really! Great! That doesn't sound suspicious at all! See if he needs the latest catalog!"
He sets up shop in an abandoned building on the New York riverfront, but amazingly enough, has enough power available to meet his demands without raising the curiousity of Con-Ed. (Or maybe he was killing the meter readers coming to check.)
The miniature sun he has created is so powerful, its field can move cars in midtown Manhattan, but doesn't seem to affect the large crane that Spidey conveniently uses to swing to safety just before the building totally collapses. Plus. the field is so hot, that metal instantly vaporizes when it hits it, but everyone can stand withing 15 feet of it and not even be at least singed, let alone melted. Oh, and this incredibly hot field can easily be "drowned" by the Hudson river without massive boilovers, explosions, steam, or instant vaporization of the waterway.
And the dialogue deathless. Ye gods and little fishes! Aunt May delivers some of the hokiest corn about "heroes" and how everyone needs one, and no one is expected to giggle at it. Mary Jane's speech at the end ("Here I am, standing in your door! I've always been standing in your door!") just makes me want to hide my face in shame that I have to listen to it and take it seriously.
"Disco Tobey" was a goofy scene? So was "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on my Head"! The dance sequence was "stupid"? Hey, if I had superpowers that included agility and athletic grace, I know that taking my woman on the dance floor would impress her a lot more than throwing a car through a wall!
It was a "chick flick'? Cum AHNN! Has anyone actually read the actual comic book? It was pure soap opera, Modern Romance with costumed characters!
The negative reaction to this film by "fans" just astounds me! Does anybody remember the late '70s? The TV show with Nicholas Hammond and his giant web shooter wrapped around his wrist like a Mexican watchband? Is this generation so spoiled by movies with great action and special effects that they can't just appreciate a good comic book movie for what it is: A bunch of nonsense, but fun, nonetheless?
I look forward to the next one, whenever it comes out...
