I sure am. Funny though, the only time I REALLY think about the good old days is when I come here. When I meet other exjws, quite often they seem consumed by their present situation. Sometimes I like to go out, have a couple of drinks and enjoy the food. Having to hear about Witness stuff 24-7 gets boring and irritating......What's your thinking on this??

Why, I am glad you ask this QUESTION! LOL!
Love ya for it!
Am I glad? Yes and No. I am glad because my children can grow up normally. What is normal anyway? That's another question for everyone. I'm just glad, I am free and not living a lie anymore. I can be myself 100% of the time. I don't use my freedom as an excuse to do all of the worldly actions. I am enjoying the fact, I can breathe and not look over my shoulder, or stumble over the words I use. (hahaha) Yes, I would tend to swear at the kingdom hall - I never broke that habit. I tried dammit!
No - Well, because I miss my family. Mom and 2 brothers, that I mainly miss. I know what it is like to have lost children to the religion. I know they're my brothers, but I did raise them. Sweat and Tears went in to making sure those boys had everything they needed and wanted. As of now, the 2 younger ones have nothing to do with me. This is why I am sad and having a hard time dealing with.
**sigh**
For the most part, I am glad to be out!

Yes, I'm glad
Yes, I have a life. I don't consider anything I do to be "worldly", that was a JW expression that does not apply to the human race!!!

When folks still talk about what happened in the congregation 10 years ago like it was yesterday EVERY TIME you see them, it isn't good.

Those who don't know the past are damned to repeat it.
Remembering that I was a Witness for so long drives me forward, and has a lot to do in my decision making.
Its all in HOW you remember it, I think.

We're all in different places. But when we've left for many years, we have to no longer live in the past. Our past can't be changed. But we can make changes and move forward.
