I applaud the outcome that Love/Norris accomplished for the sixteen victims of abuse.

BUT, I have a concern. It is this: For the rank and file JW, won't they view this as their "faithful and discreet" slave just got beat up by those awful apostates (associating this with the Silent Lambs group) ?

I feel for some JWs who are "sitting on the fence" to use their term that hopefully they will think long and hard about what is happening in the organization - considering the facts.

    What do you think?

    Hi Juni

For the rank and file JW, won't they view this as their "faithful and discreet" slave just got beat up by those awful apostates (

Probably, as that's the way they will be told to view it. The fds will call it
persecution, when it's really prosecution, and the r&f will go along with
it, or most of them will.

Thanks Trev and the new poster, bannedthrice. WELCOME TO THE FORUM!

A friend had brought up this point to me. I guess since having been out for 14 years I forget what control does to a person. I was elated when I read about the legal decision, but then got the wind taken away from my sails when this friend mentioned what will no doubt be the view by individual members.

Then when I read about the WT society's carefully worded response I'm like ah s***. Those b*******! They carefully and methodically worded it to keep the rank and file from getting too nosey about the whole situation. They worded it to get sympathy and to control the damage. And being that most JWs will only think as far as they are allowed it won't leave most w/questions or doubts.

Again thank you for your responses.

juni...down the road as similar accusations are made and similar suits are settled, it will eventually sink in to the R&F. Why do you think the WTS is becoming even more secretive, including the members only Watchtower beginning 2008? They are going from being outwardly aggresive in nature (accusatory of others) to defensive in nature (all our problems are caused by Satan) forming legal entites to protect assets, as all their words and BS are coming back to haunt them. The snowball effect has started. One day it will be an avalanche...have patience.

    Thank you who are you?.

I so hope you are right. We know the best defense is an offense. Seems like they are becoming more and more defensive about their behavior which doesn't give much credibility. But with their members they are on the offense - using these puffed up statements to maintain their righteous facade. I don't know how this will play out.

As you said. We must have patience.

    Thanks again for your thoughts.

Juni..The WBT$ formula for this is simple.I`ve seen it played out many times before..#1:Jehovah`s Witness`s won`t believe you,it never happened.WBT$ would never do anything like that!!.....Once it`s common knowledge.....#2:The Old System is persecuting Jehovah`s Witness`s!!..End of story...OUTLAW

The Catholics with their "pedolfile priest" issue are still Catholics,,recent poll still shows some increase there. It has cost the Catholic church money but of course the Catholic church has a lot of money so the Church still is going relatively strong. I have intelligent Catholic friends undaunted, still loyal to their church ways. So, most JWs, won't care about this issue. Some, who are "on the fence" it will rattle. Things or truths happen in life, & people have to make a decision on their stance. The youths of JWs pay the big price of JWdom in so many ways!

In fact they won't view it at all. They won't know about it. The WT won't print it and any rumour from the Internet would be dismissed . The sheep just go on grazing in the spritual meadow waiting to be fleeced.

Thanks OUTLAW --- I agree with you. Have a nice weekend! Did summer finally arrive in BC?

Thanks Gayle ---- you are right. See the same things happening in the Catholic church. Dang religions - Personally I have no use for organized religion. I respect others and their choice.

JW youth suffer in so many ways. I know. I raised 4 in the religion. Fortunately none of the kids got baptized. There is suffering at SO MANY LEVELS and even more so in the family structure. They lost out on so many activities.......now they are enjoying these occassions with their own children.

I'm with BluesBrother on this one. I keep hoping to see a a groundswell of indignation rise up at the KH, but it never happens. The sleeping sheep just do what the slave tells them to do, poop when they are told and eat the spiritual WT garbage they call, "meat in due season", etc. The JW indoctrination process weeds out most of the "thinkers" early on. A few of us come to our senses and escape, but the vast majority needed to keep the organization running will soldier on until they die of old age.
