I agree with the comments that it will have little or no affect.
I may get flamed for this, but I wish the "silentlambs" name wasn't tied into the press releases. The video I saw of the newscast from Nashville with them all carrying around the littlle lambs seemed childish to me. I know of a couple of JW's that know the "silentlambs" name and IMO from their comments, it isn't taken real seriously because of the name. I'm not knocking what they are doing, I just think it would have been better to have a name using initials, like the AJWRB initials that group uses.

I'm with BluesBrother too. The Watchtower has demonized the internet and the press so much that Witnesses are CONDITIONED TO DISMISS anything negative!

Who are you?
The successful lawsuit for the 16 victims
At the end of the day this is what truly matters. It is good to know that a precedent has been set.

Hi Juni,
I agree with those who say this will have little or no effect on the thinking of most in the organization. The gag order was a protection for the WTS because the 16 victims aren't able to speak out about the abuse and their well deserved settlement. If they were able to there would be a hell of a lot more news coverage for the R&F to view and form an open opinion about. I also agree that the SilentLambs involvement is a benefit to the WTS because now R&Fers will associate it all as an attack by apostates......not as sexually abused victims. .

It will be the same old scene.
It is the media/Satan/apostates.
NO event will break through the denial of the true believers; they have too much to lose by examining their beliefs critically.
BUT: some are on the cusp; they have had emotional scrapes with the elders, maybe losing a child or family member to df'ing. Or they have had personal experience with an elder body that is neither loving nor caring.
These ones will be shocked over the edge.
I was in 2002. I looked into the abuse scandal for a nephew of mine; I spent hundreds of hours researching it, looking for the righteous position I felt the society had. I not only could not find it; I was convinced that they were lying, convincing elders to lie, and were lying to the rank and file.
For those already emotionally abused, this may tip them over the edge.
I think it will be like all other issues; one at a time, doubters leave.
More the better. -

Thanks to all of you for posting your thoughts. They are of benefit to lurkers and other posters.
I do have to agree w/Bronzefist and startingover . I think SilentLambs objective is noble, but when JWs see that they are behind it they dismiss the news as apostate.
Apostasy is the greatest sin of all to the JWs. And the WT society uses it to its benefit to keep people in its grip and scared to examine the facts.
Glad you FINALLY have summer OUTLAW! Where do you keep the penguins now? lol

For those that don't want to believe the news, challenge them to call the Society and ask if it's true.
