i have to say, by the time i actually found this site, i was out of the BORG! the problem was i had no one to talk to about what i had gone through that would be able to understand my circumstances and view points... i came here, and well, people not only understood, but even when there were differences of opinions, they supported me....
well put Jeff, even though i was never a lurker, boy do i know where alot of these people are coming from... though the transition was almost completed by the time i was here, the love and friendship i found here has meant so much to me... i learned so much and really feel like i have a family here, even though i don't have much of one in real life!

BB - I am sorry to hear that you have had a bad experience on the site. I dare say though, that most here who know me also would agree that my general and specific opinions are anything but mainstream JWD in many cases. I have been blasted, as you say at times. But that is what I love about this place. Freedom of opinion. I haven't been disfellowshipped though - the common approach to those who differ in opinion from the place we came from before.
BTW- you can disagree with anything I say, and no blast will forthcome from this corner.

As is often the case, Jeff, you 'kill me softly with your song.' This especially resonated with me...
I was impressed by those willing to defend the Watchtower, even though they hated the Watchtower, when facts did not support allegations against them. This was a significant impression for me. It convinced me that, although there are 'Watchtower Bashers' here, there was also deep character here, and integrity. I discovered that the motives were not what I thought they would be - that the motives were honest, often painfully deep seated, and amazingly similar to my own motives, though at first I did not recognize that too clearly.
Well done Jeff. I could identify with much of what you said.

I must clarify one of my statements;

I meant to say that I had not been DF'd from JWD. I am legally no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I DA'd from that organization in October.
