It's Really the ANTI-TRUTH!!!!

As I learned from websites and books, I came to a shocking realization.
At first, I knew that there were serious problems with WTS teachings, but
I assumed that it wasn't all that bad. I quickly learned that the teachings
were the opposite of truth, they were the Anti-truth.

If you are lurking, start examining for yourself. Everyone, please feel free to
add to the list of anti-truths.

**JW's teach that their anointed ones are a "Faithful and Discreet Slave" and
have a special knowledge that they are God's chosen ones. Their current
teaching is that anointed ones are nothing special- some men of the anointed
are considered not worthy of being appointed elders in local congregations.

**JW's teach that their Governing Body are Spirit-Directed, mystifying how this
is done. They say Jesus oversees them, they say angels contact them, they indicate
that perhaps the anointed already in heaven are guiding them. All this, and they
say that they are not "inspired" because that would make them false prophets if
they were ever wrong. That's very anti-truth. Worse yet, the reality is that the
Governing Body actually makes their decisions based on a two-thirds majority vote.
That's really Spirit-Directed, huh? Let's roll the dice and see what Jehovah causes
    them to do.

**They claim the New World Translation is a scholarly modern translation. In reality,
it's scholar was Fred Franz, and he didn't know that much ancient Greek like he
led others to believe, and knows virtually nothing of Hebrew. The NWT chooses the
most obscure possible definitions or usages of words to bolster their doctrines. It
misleads JW's into believing that all the New Testament insertions of "Jehovah" belong
there, when there is absolutely no proof that his name was ever in any NT scriptures.

**Christianity and the Bible teach that Christ died for everyone on earth and that he is the
way and the truth. He taught that the entire law could be summed up in two commands-
To love God, and to love your neighbors. JW's Governing Body complicate their version
of Christianity with rules about every aspect of life, including: where you should work, how
you should perform works that demonstrate your faith, what music and entertainment is
acceptable, what you should wear, what kind of sex spouses should have, etc. All this for
the rank-and-file JW to follow, then they indicate that Christ Jesus is only a mediator for
    the remnant of the anointed.

**JW's say that only they have identified the composite sign of the last days of Matt. chapter 24,
but skip over vs. 4, 5 which say "Look out that nobody misleads you; for many will come on the
basis of my name saying 'I am the Christ.' and will mislead many." Jesus actually used the
"sign" as something that you should not follow to believe one's that say "There he is."
This summer, you will hear how the Governing Body is part of "the Christ." They will mislead.

**JW's teach that you should wait on Jehovah to clear up any matter, but they joined the United
Nations (an organization of Satan according to them) to assist their worldwide recruiting. They
challenge ordinances in court, often appealing to the Supreme Court. Their "donations only"
switch from set prices for literature was to avoid paying taxes, yet they fought in court to avoid
the taxes, then lost, then made this switch. They have settled lawsuits concerning mishandling
of child-abuse cases, rather than face bad publicity. They don't wait on Jehovah to set matters
straight, they only ask rank-and-file to do so.

**They say they have great love among themselves, but they are too busy with
magazine selling to really help each other when in need, they only maintain a
close bond as long as you continue making meetings and recruiting. They are
prepared to totally shun other former members for things they won't even know
    that they supposedly did.

**They say they have the solutions to Mankind's problems, but the organization
doesn't do any charity work to speak of- only the individuals. Their solution is to
destroy 99.9% of the world's human population to eliminate joblessness, hunger,
    poverty, war, and the likes.

In the end it is their religious institution that takes priority over 'truth'. I like the comparison that Ray Franz makes about how it at least took the Church in Rome a number of centuries until it really started to take on such an authoritative structure. It only took the JWs a few decades.

They say they follow the early church in the way they behave and are organised. Surely in the early church there was no all controlling and all directing GB that claimed a monopoly on authority and inspiration and expeled anyone that criticised them or their ideology in any degree shape or form. Yet the JWs insist that there was a GB in the early church that behaved exactly as their GB does today.

The early church refered to Jesus as Lord the JWs refer only to jehovah as Lord and are very clearly jehovah centred. Their accent is on the Old Testament not the New Testament to the point that they are Judaisers in disguise. They bar most of their members from becoming members of the body of Christ and the word church seems to be a totally alien concept to them. They are nothing but the organisation of jehovah not the church of Christ. If someone doesn't want to be part of the new covenent, of the vine, of the church, then he can't be a christian, end of story.

Greendawn, yours reminds me of what else I wanted to say:

**They claim to be patterned after the first-century Christians. What Greendawn says shows they are not.
Also, their pattern includes the claim that first-century Christians did a door-to-door work. The
scriptures show that some disciples went to the Synagogues and public marketplaces. The scriptures
that weren't twisted into the NWT indicate that they had meetings in private homes, not in a door-to-door
ministry. So the guys in a VW minibus who get out on a downtown street with a microphone are
doing a work closer to the first-century evangelizers. There is no indication that everyone had to do
this work back then, but all did what they freely decided to do to spread the good news. Nobody preached
to avoid being irregular or marked.

**The Good News was about Christ giving his life for all to be saved. (I am just saying what the Bible
teaches, I don't necessarily follow all this.) The Watch Tower Organization twists the good news into
a message of warning of a coming destruction, and the good part is where you put your trust in Jehovah
and his earthly representatives. They leave Christ out, almost entirely. They say the Good News is
about paradise and the 1000 year reign of Christ if you point out their leaving him out, but Jesus did not
go around preaching "The Kingdom means a future paradise with me ruling for 1000 years."

The wheels fall off for me when the subject of Jesus, redemption, and the ransom sacrifice is discussed.

Do the rank and file non anointed qualify for Jesus' sacrifice directly? No.

So how are we actually redeemed by Jesus? No model exists for this concept in scripture; how can we be benefited by his sacrifice if we do not have a direct relationship with him?

WT would answer by our association with the remnant. WHAT remnant? Almost NO halls have anointed in them, those that do find them so old they are in nursing homes, or younger kooky ones who partake but are lightly regarded by most. And consider the drift toward regarding the GB, not the remnant, as the FDS. We don't associate with them either. (thank God).

Or holy spirit. Do we get holy spirit directly? This week's WT suggests so, but other articles are very circumspect about this subject, hinting that any holy spirit we get is completely different from that of the anointed.

So how much do we get? How is it different?

How exactly does the spirit know who to select as anointed?

How exactly does the spirit know who to select as anointed?

Simple. It picks those who appear to be close to a visit from the grim reaper.

The say there is not clergy/layety distinction in the org. However, when it comes to hiding their paedophile paradise from the public, they claim penitential privilege. What hypocrites!!
