Your experience is a common one. My last meeting - I was so alone and so sick that I had a very visibly difficult time even walking down the KH aisle. They didn't care at all. My worldy co-workers took one look at me the following day at work and wanted to call 911. I truly think my ex-husband would not be as bad as he is if he didn't constantly have the Borg making him feel inadequate and unworthy. While that might not physically kill in itself, it surely does take a toll on its members.

Welcome. Thanks for your story.
I really never read any other boards. Guess I found this one first and haven't looked since.

Great story, thanks for sharing. I can't believe the audacity of the elders counselling you for speaking to a DF'd person at your husband's funeral! I sense from your writing that you are coming out of the pain in to a fresh, new life. You aren't as fearful or guilty as you used to be, are you?

Welcome Momma of 2!
I'm somewhat new posting here, a couple months or less? But have been reading from this site for over a year, and have found it very helpful with my JW situation, however I have never been a witness ( I work with 7 of them- 5 days a week for years now).
Anyway, listen, the "Truth" is not just another religion. Try not to slam other faiths by lumping them into the pig pen with the WTS religion. The "Truth", stands out like a big wart on a face, when it comes to comparing faiths.
Don't give up on God and Christ. You can be free to have faith in Christ with out the mind control and silly rules and regs they have injected into your life.
You will experience believers and non-believers here, and we respect them all. Take it easy and follow your heart, you're gonna end up in one of these categories sooner or later. But my opinion is that the WTS turns people into non-believers, when they get to the point they stop believing all the BS.
I heard a witness at work a few years ago, say that 9 out of 10 times, when a JW leaves the "Truth", they don't go into another religion. I never thought about that until recently, but I know now he was right, based on what I just said above.

Congratulations on your twins! And Welcome to the board!
Your story broke my heart. You're so young and have gone through so much. I'm sorry your parents can't see past the religion and appreciate their daughter. My mom did the same thing for many years but she did spend time with us after my twins were born. Yes, I also have twin boys and they are almost 12. Twins are so special. At first it is a whole lot of hard work but they are so amazing. I can't imagine life without my boys or their older brother.

Hi newbie very sorry to hear about your situation, where is the love and compassion at the worst time of any body life to lose a loved one you need all the emotional support and comfort , my heart goes out to you.
I myself left the Borg last Xmas after being a JW for 36 years because of the total lack of love shown me , i was tied of hearing excuses , i have many new friends now in my town and beyond who respect me and have shown me much kindness and love as i have come through a similar situation as yours.
kind regards
Stephen.
